This photo struck a chord with me and made me think of an old song by Skid Row.

Maybe you know the song:

I Remember You

Song by - Skid Row

Woke up to the sound of pouring rain

The wind would whisper and I'd think of you

And all the tears you cried that called my name

And when you needed me I came through

I paint a picture of the days gone by

When love went blind and you would make me see

I'd stare a lifetime into your eyes

So that I knew that you were there for me

Time after time you were there for me

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand

Love letters in the sands, I remember you

And through the sleepless nights, through every endless day

I'd wanna hear you say, "I remember you"

Oh, whoa

We spent the summer with the top rolled down

Wished ever after would be like this

You said, "I love you, babe," without a sound

I said, "I'd give my life for just one kiss

I'd live for your smile and die for your kiss"

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand

Love letters in the sands, I remember you

And through the sleepless nights, through every endless day

I'd wanna hear you say, "I remember you"

We've had our share of hard times

But that's the price we paid

And through it all, we kept the promise that we made

I swear you'll never be lonely

Oh-oh-oh, oh

We woke up to the sound of pouring rain

Washed away a dream of you

But nothing else could ever take you away

'Cause you'll always be my dream come true

Oh my darling, I love you

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand

Love letters in the sands, I remember you

And through the sleepless nights, through every endless day

I'd wanna hear you say, "I remember you"

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand

Love letters in the sands, I remember you

Through all the sleepless nights, through every endless day

I'd wanna hear you say, "I remember, I remember you"

Yeah, oh yeah

Remember those dismembered by our hubris and contempt for nature...

“Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck.”

― Dalai Lama XIV

We had grey skies and rainy days lately so I thought about uploading a pic of sunnier days :)

Que porqué la primera vez es la mejor? Porqué es la que se recuerda.... Quien lo sabe....

Esta es mi primera Via Láctea y aún recuerdo el día.

Animal lovers know the pain of losing a beloved nonhuman family member. We mourn, we remember, and we move on. However, sometimes an animal companion leaves an indelible mark on our souls, a hole in our hearts that can't be filled. Chloe was such. She chose us that day in the shelter, she sassed her way into our hearts, gave each of us love (and a piece of her mind when she felt it was warranted). I've been blessed with many animal companions through the years, as has my husband. And we both agree that none have made such an impression, left such a mark, as our loving, smart, sassy tabby, Chloe. We were blessed the day she entered our lives.

It's the 3rd anniversary of her passing and we love and cherish her memory.

Chloe, forever in our hearts.

Thanks to all for viewing, faving and/or commenting! Much appreciated! L

Merry Christmas my friends!

We've hit the late autumn "gray" in Michigan, so that leads me to looking back at brighter days, like this one at Dow Gardens in Midland, MI, summer, 2024. I miss the greater prevalence of butterflies and hope those days return, too.

Have not been out photographing in a couple of weeks, it is so cold here! Looking back over some of my fall shots and missing the colors. This was taken just as the sun came up over the horizon in the San Juan Mountains.

I love the shape of the rocks in this waterfall and how the long exposure brought out the circular motion of the water surface.

Friday, the Summer Solstice, was simply a spectacular day. I was able to get back to Nerstrand Big Woods State Park plus a new park for me called Carin Park. The weather was cool and the sky overcast which provided some wonderful light. Even the bugs were not a problem like they have been this Spring. I remember only two instances all day where I noted a mosquito or gnat buzzing around.

As we move away from those summer days in Australia, we're still experiencing a lovely Indian Summer in Melbourne with very warm Autumn days.

It's hard to imagine that it's been 25 years since the horrific events of 9/11 here in the United States of America. We will always remember that day and continue to pray for all the families of those whose lives were lost and forever changed. There are not enough thank yous to all of the first responders....true heroes.

One of my hardi cacti blooming

San Jose NM, mid-1950s . That's my great-grandpa Sam, WW1 vet. He was very much loved and is fondly remembered by many many people some 30 years after his death. He made homemade wine, and I'm guessing that's what's in the cup. He had a small ranch with horses in San Jose (at junction of Santa Fe Trail and Pecos River). That's my mom he's holding. She's still around, being my mommy:). I wish that Ford was in my driveway. Thanks for looking!

Thank you for taking the time to visit, comment, fave or invite. I really appreciate them all.

I am still experimenting with AI in combination with my own photos. In this one the woman was created in DDG and then used as the input image for Wombo to create two photos which were merged. Elements from my own photos were included and everything was further manipulated in both Topaz and Photoshop.

Ragusa, Sicily.

An beautiful sleepy town steeped in history. Although it was a rainy day, it did not spoil its charm.

A BIG Thank You, LFI for including this photo in Leica Master Shots. 🙏 📷

And of course thanks to all of YOU! It is the reason for the submission. ❤️

Collage of Mili

In the Garden, relaxing on garden balcony, walking down the lane, and on the beach.

12 very happy years of unconditional love, fun, happiness, she loved her life.

She loved her balls, and had two favourite squeaky toys, a duck and pheasant.

Never ever saw a snarl or heard a growl when approached by all dogs, just kisses, licks and sniffs !!!!

Mejor abrazos largos y profundos.
