Once upon a time the U.S. Senate was rightfully known as the "world's greatest deliberative body." Its members served our country with courage and honor and commitment to the principles enshrined in our Constitution. They were patriots. They had character we could always count on. That was then. Remember when.....if you can.

I CRIED FOR YOU by Katie Melua

WHISPERS

Whisper to me the sounds of Spring; comfort me with flowers

and every lovely little thing will fade away like sea mist

on the breeze of memories and longing for a soft sweet kiss;

belonging in the arms of someone that you love

and watching gentle raindrops slowly trickle down the window

and gently touch the hand that holds yours in the night;

caressing in sweet slumber the one who brings you peace

and waking in the windswept morning that follows every storm

you find a pillow dented where once his head had lain;

a comforting reminder that all was not a dream

he left before the dawning, but did so without knowing

he fell so deeply into sleep; you never saw it coming

now walk the beach alone; your footprints on the sand,

but feel a touch upon your shoulder where once his hand had been; the sea air settles salt upon the lips that once met his

and tastes of moonlight kisses and dances in the dusk

barefeet swirling softly across the sands of time

a bird flies by your face brushing wing against your cheek

where once he held your face in hands

that promised to be with you until the end of time,

but no-one tells the future what it can and cannot do,

so we seize each precious moment and try to make it last

then we do the best that we can do to leave things in the past

until one morning it is over; this bleakness that you felt;

the sunshine paints a pretty picture; the heartache starts to melt

and you come back again to life with vigour in your step

and look at dusty photographs of that moment when you met,

but now you can let go because you know it's time to carry on

and move on down the future line where he'll always be a part of you until your dying day, but leave until tomorrow; don't give yourself away; take time to be yourself and know that love will come your way again when roses are in flower; blooming pink like candyfloss and counting down the hours;

he'll watch you and protect you and bless you with his love,

but don't forget who lay the stone foundations of your heart;

who waited while you flowered within this solid home

where love resides and never dies; where tenderness lives on;

the legacy he gave to you, you can now pass that along

to the one who waits so silently until he knows you're ready

to begin again and give your heart and know that deep inside

the love you lost and mourned was not the end, but just the start.

November is the time to be thankful, a time to remember and to embrace those who enrich our lives. I’m thankful for a lot of things, but I’m most thankful for you.

But what ever you do

smile for me

REMEMBER THAT

Thank you for taking the time to visit, comment, fave or invite. I really appreciate them all.

I am still experimenting with AI in combination with my own photos. In this one the woman was created in DDG and then used as the input image for Wombo to create two photos which were merged. Elements from my own photos were included and everything was further manipulated in both Topaz and Photoshop.

“Spring passes and one remembers one's innocence. Summer passes and one remembers one's exuberance. Autumn passes and one remembers one's reverence. Winter passes and one remembers one's perseverance.” ~ Yoko Ono

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer. ~Albert Camus

I thought I would dig thru the archives a bit….I was trying to remember what summer felt like!

I like that once summer is over, I'll have all these pictures to remember it by when I'm cold and the winter darkness seems to last forever. It's important to always have hope for the next spring and summer. :)

Remember the warm and long days of summer, when you could stay out until sunset around 9pm. We can now only enjoy them through the photographs we shot then, awaiting summer again!

i found this picture left on my PC and remember the first try with abandoneds, since my childhood locations like this are fascinating for me

Remember a Day

(© Wright/Pink Floyd)

Remember a day before today

A day when you were young.

Free to play alone with time

Evening never came.

Sing a song that can't be sung

Without the morning's kiss

Queen - you shall be it if you wish

Look for your king

Why can't we play today

Why can't we stay that way

Climb your favorite apple tree

Try to catch the sun

Hide from your little brother's gun

Dream yourself away

Why can't we reach the sun

Why can't we blow the years away

Blow away

Blow away

We've hit the late autumn "gray" in Michigan, so that leads me to looking back at brighter days, like this one at Dow Gardens in Midland, MI, summer, 2024. I miss the greater prevalence of butterflies and hope those days return, too.

If I tell you my favorite color

And not be able to see it

Will you describe it to me

And always remember

If you hear the word I use the most

And I become forgetful

Will you speak it

And always remember

If I kiss you

And distance comes between us

Will you kiss me back

And always remember

If I don’t know the answer

And my mind reaches its limit

Will you help me find it

And always remember

If I am lost in this world

And can’t find my way

Will you get lost with me

And always remember

… my love.

Woke up to the sound of pouring rain

The wind would whisper and I'd think of you

And all the tears you cried, that called my name

And when you needed me I came through

I paint a picture of the days gone by

When love went blind and you would make me see

I'd stare a lifetime into your eyes

So that I knew that you were there for me

Time after time you there for me

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand

Love letters in the sand, I remember you

Through the sleepless nights through every endless day

I'd want to hear you say, I remember you oh oh

We spent the summer with the top rolled down

Wished ever after would be like this

You said I love you babe, without a sound

I said I'd give my life for just one kiss

I'd live for your smile and die for your kiss

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand

Love letters in the sand, I remember you

Through the sleepless nights through every endless day

I'd want to hear you say, I remember you

We've had our share of hard times

But that's the price we paid

And through it all we kept the promise that we made

I swear you'll never be lonely

Woke up to the sound of pouring rain

Washed away a dream of you

But nothing else could ever take you away

'Cause you'll always be my dream come true

Oh my darling, I love you

Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand

Love letters in the sand, I remember you

Through the sleepless nights through every endless day

I'd want to hear you say, I remember you

...When we made beautiful music together.

I like using LED panels for off camera lighting but seeing these old violins gave me a feeling of nostalgia so I dusted off one of my old Paul C. Buff strobes for this shot.

You still had your old camera back then.

Everyone no doubt remembers where they were on 9/11 2001, when the horrific events of the day unfolded live on TV.

Nearly a year ago we were fortunate enough to visit NYC and ground zero; a very moving experience.

A time to reflect and remember.

Elves have, by far, the longest life-span among the mortal races; rumored to reach over a millennium.

Due to this; they see civilizations rise and fall, friends raise families, grow old and perish, and vast lush fields dwindle into arid deserts.

It's easy to forget these things, time is but a number to you. A year has no more sway than a drop of rain falling into a vast ocean.

I have not personally know etva,

I do not know anything about her

except what emerges from his images ....

yet, by visiting his photostream

I have taken a great sadness....

Lately he had taken to support my works

and now it seems so strange his absence.

I met etva elaborating its image under

"winter trees" as the Source Image for the Kreative People

and I wanted to greet her with a new processing

the same image

Thank you Beth
