Both went to Rainbow Bridge in the last 7 mos. Muffet (Bichon Frise) was 16yrs - Cricket (Havanese) 15yrs - dearly missed but, wonderful memories.

Remember Fukushima
On the third anniversary of the tragic events following the tsunami and the resulting nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Greens/EFA MEPs carried out a symbolic action to remember the disaster and its victims at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
This followed a press conference with Naoto Matsumura, the last man living in the forbidden zone of Fukushima, hosted by green MEPs Sandrine Bélier and Michele Rivasi.

so no, this is not very interesting. but i have no ideas in my brains.
today made me happy, and it was so nice.
i learned spanish with felipe and taylor since were going to colombia and all .
then we went and "borrowed" garretts climbing stuff and went climbing. it was a real riot i tell you.
those two boys lifted my spirits and made me laugh. i am overly blessed to have them along with many other great people in my life.
Kudos to students at Milton High School who commemorate 9/11 by placing one flag for every individual who lost their life in the quad in front of the school. Though most of the students have only a vague recollection of the events that transpired on this day and forever changed our world, their efforts are very much appreciated by the community - especially by those whose lives were directly impacted on this tragic day.
Shortly after taking this pic, while I chatted with a photog friend, an SUV pulled up. My friend recognized the woman waving from the front seat of the vehicle and the two were soon sharing a friendly hug, while several spilled out of the doors and gathered round and the woman's husband slowly walked over. Somewhere in the midst of this joy was also a deep sorrow, and the reason for the visit was soon shared: the husband had lost his sister, the woman her sister-in-law on 9/11. In memory of the loss, they named their beautiful and youngest daughter, Margaret, after the sister.
Despite the fact that the events of 9/11/2001 took place nine years ago, it's hard not to remember and now to have met a man who lost his sister - in her 30's - serves as another reminder of the very real impact so many experienced on this day.

Nelson Mandela visited the University of Essex in July 1997 to accompany Graça Machel, who subsequently became his wife, and who was awarded an Honorary Degree in recognition of her work with the UN on children’s rights. That visit has has a continuing impact on the University with staff, students and members of the public who were able to be there on the day still vividly remembering the moment. You can't do justice for the sacrifice so many people made during the 1st World War. People who really didn't have an option but to fight in a pointless war that could have been avoided. But it's important you make an effort to remember them. And this effort is simple, considerate and honours every British and colonial soldier who died.

I am already so tired of the snow and cold here. I love autumn..it's usually pretty mild here in southern Alberta and I love all the colors. This was taken one late September day, on a trip down to Cardston. Just an abandonded little cabin and a shed back off the main road. There is a small stream just past the barbed wire fence or I would have gone in to explore more or get another angle. Anyhow..I set this as my screen saver today and am enjoying the color..much better than whats outside lol

Memorial Day Ceremony is the annual event held to honor and pay tribute to the men and women of the armed forces, "who gave their all."
The Tidewater Veterans Memorial stands in tribute to veterans of all wars and current military personnel. Six years under design and construction, it was completed in 1988 and has received awards for design and public art. The memorial is located on 19th Street across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The Veterans Memorial Park, dedicated to those service members who honorably served their country, is behind the memorial.

I remember back in first grade each of us kids got a sweet potato and a jar to root it in. The jars were lined up near a window with our names on them. It was SO exciting to see the roots appear, then weeks later, the leaves. So when I saw that this was past it prime I put tooth picks in and water in this mug for it. Today, about 4 weeks later, the leaves are peeking out at the rim !!

I learned that my friend Libi had passed away yesterday and her passing sent me rummaging through my archives for images I had of her. My friend, and Libi's son, Matt had his 50th birthday party a few years back and asked if I would take some photos to remember the occasion. This is still one of my favs from the night with mother and son dancing and serenading each other as the mariachis played on. RIP Libi. The world is a little emptier today without you here.
