November 11, 2018 marks the 100th anniversary since the end of the First World War, Armistice Day.
After four years of conflict, the guns fell silent. And we remember those who have given their lives on the battlefield, defending our country.

The recent tragic Typhoon to hit the Philippines has reminded me of that beautiful country and its warm people. I decided it was time to sort out some of the photos I took there.

LET US REMEMBER
It’s been a lot of years now since that horrendous day in September when our world was attacked by strangers, but the evil we will never forget!
How could we?
Terrorist hijacked our planes and crashed into our twin towers killed innocent people and filled us all with terror
and made a mess of our beautiful world
So many innocent lives were lost
what an awful cost!
Mother's empty arms
lay folded across her chest.
Daddy’s baseball glove now lays silent and still
Grandma’s kitchen still waits, white-washed and clean
But they shall not return, they have entered
heavens domain, forever happy in the arms of God
But what of their families, left behind;
their treasures all lay buried in the rubbish
The rubbish of a mad mans plans!
Plans to kill Americans and destroy our land, but little did he know that God still had us in his hands
All those innocent lives were lost, but they have not died in vain they gave their lives for our country, just like the soldiers in Vietnam. Just like the sailors at Pearl Harbor
Just like the death toll of world war one
These innocent people have not died in vain
The torture, the pain, the agony, all the sadness of
911 brought American together in a song,
the song of freedom; let freedom ring
It brought America together in prayer;
Oh God, please bless America
America united;
Neighbor helping neighbor
The prince and the pauper hand in hand.
Where presidents and kings kneel to pray
The world united, and it was good,
if only for a day
And oh, how I wish it could stay this way
Today, it is to these people that we gather to pay tribute
to the victims and the families of 911
Innocent ordinary everyday average working people like us
who became our newest American heroes
Firemen, policemen, nurses, taxi drivers, pilots, secretaries,
and I could go on forever and a day, because who in America did 911 not touch in some way? We have all been touched, and we must never forget this day;
Let’s bow our heads and pray! Let’s thank God for a nation where freedom rings and God is still alive and he does his job so well
“I ask you God to please keep blessing America”!

Families could afford to spend time together regardless of space and distance?
I don't know the name of this tunnel...but it was in Washington DC at the end of our long trip down to Maryland (we are from Hartford) with the kids from Venice, Italy, & the in/laws from Chicago to meet up with my nice and nephew/law from Wilmington NC. Mega travel for all involved, unbelievable amounts of cash spent on gas and car rentals, but luckily we got awesome military discounts on lodging...$89 per night on 2bdr condo units w/ full kitchen, living room, 2 baths, 4 beds, furnished with supplies and even a dishwasher and Kureg machine.
From the empty photo, its too bad more folks can't afford these fuel prices.
Its a shame more and more, even middle class folks can't afford the fuel, or the smaller paycheck that would result in taking that time off required...

Hailing from Ocala, Florida, A DAY TO REMEMBER is one of the hardest working bands in the business. They have sold nearly 900,000 albums since forming in 2003. While topping the Billboard charts, they have also sold out entire continental tours all over the world.
The band’s latest album “What Separates Me From You”, (smarturl.it/wsmfy ) on Victory Records debuted at # 11 on the Billboard Top 200 selling over 58,000 copies first week and the first single off the album, the guitar-charged anthem “All I Want” was one of 2011’s most played songs at alternative radio. The album also debuted as the # 1 Rock Album in the UK.
The band featuring vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Kevin Skaff, bassist Joshua Woodard and drummer Alex Shelnutt not only sold out nearly every date on their headline tour supporting the new album, they did it all around the world – UK, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, South America and more.

aun recuerdo akella vez n la k m djiste "hazme desaparecer"..y yo cn mi mano te cerre suavemente tus ojos..tu m dijiste k te habias cm en el cielo i k un angel te taba acariciando el rostro xD weno..no era precisamente un angel..pero si era io xD..tb recuerdo un un dia, qndo nos tabamos conociendo, ke te acercaste a mi n un recreo i m escribiste mxas cosas lindas..pero el k mas recuerdo, fue ese dia ke tomaste una hoja i m escribiste "sabes ke te quiero, cierto?"..ie respondi si..xk? i tu m dijiste "pense k no lo tnias claro"..tb recuerdo qndo te dije k iria a probarme a la escuela de atletismo..tu siempre tubiste ahi cnmgo..aunk tabamos mal ia..pero siempre tuvo too tu apoyo. Recuerdo ke ese dia n el k m fui aprobar, miraba cada una de las bancas i taba cnvencido ke derepente saldrias tu i m saludarias cn la mano.. weno, tal momento jamas iego (i menos el tener k usar esa ropa apretada cn la k tanto m kerias ver :$ xD)..a veces, qndo m siento triste, me pongo a pensar n todos esos lindos recuerdos k kedaron..todos esos momentos k estuvimos juntos..qndo n vez de ver las obras de teatro nos sentabamos juntos i haciamos otras cosas i nos poniamos a lesear xD fueron unos lindos 2 años..cn altos i bajos..cm too, pero son mas las cosas wenas k las malas..nosotros acordamos ke siempre ibamos a recordar lo lindo i lo bueno de nuestra relacion i k siempre nos diriamos "te kiero" i si no..uno le pegaria un wate al otro xD..weno..la primera cosa, siempre lo hacemos..i la segunda..no tanto xD pero igual se hace :) extraño tantas cosas..ir al cine, al parke (a k m veas jugar futbol i m pierda un maldito penal xk m tabas mirando i m puse nervioso xD) en el Mall, hasta en las Kermesses o intento de kermesses xD.. o estar solitos x ahi.. juntitos..pero ia todo cmbio..no son mas ke recuerdos..lindos recuerdos, k siempre los guardare cn cariño..se ke mas de 1 vez dije ke fue tiempo perdido, pero si lo hice, fue xk taba enojado o xk no aceptaba el kiebre.. pero fue todo lo cntrario..fue un hermoso tiempo, ke valio la pena, no solo pusimos el 100%, sino k el 200% n esto..hasta tniamos nuestros planes hexos xD viajar a Europa, tener nuestro DEPTO (xD) en providencia, pasar toda nuestra vida juntos..hasta viejitos :).. pero todos esos sueños se fueron cn el viento..a lo mejor (cm decias tu) no era el tiempo de conocernos, debimos conocernos ia grandes i maduros..para asi poder realizar nuestros sueños.. pero las cosas pasan x algo..sean para bien o para mal..estos recuerdos jamas los eliminare de mi (L)..aun tienen un cajoncito cn tu nombre..tu lo sabes mui bn.!..i sabes mui bn ke te kiero demasiado :).. "Dios nos da recuerdos en para que tengamos rosas primaverales en el invierno de nuestra vida"
