After a day of walking all over the city in sandals, a foot massage was really what we needed.
The only turn off was the chinese herbalists who came and after careful physical exams(which meant just by checking the pulse)diagnosed each one of us with an exotic, vague and rare illness. Ofcourse, expensive herbal treatments were offered. Some fell for it and paid $$ for a half year's supply of strange herbal concoctions. This doesn't mean that I am in anyway against chinese herbal treatment, it is infact a very safe and holistic method which has been incorporated by the chinese government with Allopathic treatment.
Nonetheless, lesson to learn: Do not get conned into buying hakeemi dawayyan from Chaina! It would be hard to get a consultation over the phone :D!!
Today my husband saw a hawk of some kind fly by the window and told me about it. I went out with my camera and laid in the hammock enjoying the perfectly delightful temperature, breeze, and the interesting show.
I don't know what kind of raptor it was, but it was beautifully golden (Golden Eagle, perhaps--they live in Iowa). It flew around and around the corn field with four black birds following and hanging around with it. It was a lovely serendipitous few minutes.
