I just joined a group called Get Pushed!! that pairs you up with someone who challenges you to take a shot that you normally wouldn't take. My challenge from dobseh was to get a candid, street portrait of a stranger in a relaxed atmosphere. It was over 100º out today, so there weren't a lot of people out and about, but I did come across these two gentlemen relaxing in the shade. I was SO nervous as I started snapping away, but I snapped the shot and kept on walking like nothing had happened. Definitely out of my comfort zone, but still a good excercise. Thanks Rob!
Always wanted to try this sort of macro shot , this is my first ever rendition of focus stacking photo. I've learned a lot from this picture , and I know how to improve the next photo.
Pre wise took about 1 hour to set up , the wasp was balanced on a grape branch which was held by twisers and then balanced on a tall candle to give me the required levitation for my tripod to reach it .
I reversed a 50mm lens onto a 70-300 mm lens and wrapped a gorilla tripod around the lens with a Sb-600 attached to it illuminating straight down at the wasp.

Tonight we are relaxing after a busy day yesterday in good company of family and catching up on old times.

Today my husband saw a hawk of some kind fly by the window and told me about it. I went out with my camera and laid in the hammock enjoying the perfectly delightful temperature, breeze, and the interesting show.
I don't know what kind of raptor it was, but it was beautifully golden (Golden Eagle, perhaps--they live in Iowa). It flew around and around the corn field with four black birds following and hanging around with it. It was a lovely serendipitous few minutes.
Everybody wants a relaxing and peaceful life. Only, we do not get it on a day-to-day basis because of our busy schedule.
