In relation to my last post...........great news, Ruby came home from the vets yesterday.
This is a gorgeous Lollypot that Ruby's family sent to me as a thank you for Willy donating his blood.
It was so thoughtful of them, we were so pleased to be able to help.
I hadn't know that cat's were able to donate blood. The vet told us they need to be under 8 years of age & approximately 5 kilos.
Willy had to be sedated & had his fluffy collar shaved.

It's a minor usability issue but it would be easy and not expensive to change the wording of the text.

These two photos were among many in my grandmother's collection. The child in the photo on the left resembles the boy standing in the photo on the right. My guess is that he is a relation of my maternal grandmother Edith Gardaphe. I suspect he's her nephew Fred Gardaphe, (and that the guy kneeling in the center is Joseph Gardaphe Jr.) but I'll have to check on that.

Gender Line of Inquiry:
Drawing and Painting class - In relation to my gender line of equity I wanted to explore the concept of 'Androgyny'. This term is used to describe individuals who possess both masculine and feminine qualities. To others it can be a challenge to fathom their gender. to start exploring this line of inquiry in my work, I decided to do a series of drawings of facial features of individuals who are perceived by society as 'androgynous'. The reason why I chose to draw their facial features and nothing else, is because it is hard to guess the gender of an individual just by their eyes, eyebrows, nose and lips. My aim here was to present individuals as 'Gender neutral' blurring the barrier to what is male and what is female.

International influences makes global communication an evidence. Our motor is one of researching the borders between the relation of the ethic, esthetic and meaning of an image. As Jeanluc Godart said " c' est juste une image", but is this correct?
As we saw Eisenstein creating the first associative montage-films, trying to grasp the significance of one image following another, we discover a whole new language and communication. If this communication takes his place in public space we create a LINK, a link between different worlds.
A Link between the origin of the images and where they will be displayed, in this case South – North from Kinshasa to Oslo. A link in time and in perspective of their new environment. A link between the viewer and the viewed. A link between different customs which act against all prejudices. A link leaving the stereotypical image of Africa behind us. A link to gives us a more honest impression of the continent Africa.
Honest because of the children, we all know they arouse a feeling of naivety and pureness. Honest because of the universal link between the natural phenomena's like rain and the sun, both abundant needed and yet sometimes origin of a lot of misery.
This work is to be seen as an visual poem on hope and dreams and not as a slogan.
In the eyes of a child lays hope, future and dreams.

Le plaisir que tu as quand il te dit, pour une fois, que c'est avec toi qu'il veut être. Les frissons que tu as quand il te caresse la joue. L'impression que le temps s'écoule beaucoup plus vite en sa présence. La tristesse que tu ressens quand tu le vois partir. L'envie de ne rien dire même si tu as peur. Quitte à souffrir, encore et encore. Puisque tu l'aimes.
