A smaller version of a saluting veteran that David sculptured for the National Cemetry in Rittman, Ohio. David does admit that while at first he sculpted the body and face of a unknown individual he did add a more personal touch by placing his brother's face as the face of soldier, for his brother is a war veteran.

I created a mask about fire. It relates to me because I’m mad to be in prison. It is important to me because I want to get out. I miss my family. If someone else were to look at my mask I think they would think its dope. If I were to add anything to my mask it would be more flames. If I were to sum up the meaning of this mask I would say that I’m heated. I experienced anger while making the mask. In the end, I would keep the mask for myself.

This image relates to our themes in class because we talked about how different races and culture do different things pertaining to religion. For many muslims, they attend a local mosque to worship and practice the faith. This image means little to me because for almost all my time at high school I had to drive by this structure and I never truly knew what it was for until my senior year.
