Hooded Mergansers stopping in the Napanee River on their migration back to Northern nesting areas.
They are shy, and this is as close as I could get before they fled.
An attempt at building a hanger and my first vehicle build since I was a kid.
Lots of Zizy inspiration on this build, eg: the tanker truck and the scissor lift.
This massive bull elk took advantage of a lull in the rut activity to refuel. Found in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. This guy was one of the largest bulls with the most antler points we saw during our few days in Jasper. He is an 8x8.
Migration Refueling Stop
Many species of migrating birds are dependent upon timing their migration from South America to take advantage of the horseshoe crabs spawning in the Delaware Bay, so the birds can feast on the crab eggs and relish their strength sufficiently to complete their migration to Northern breeding grounds.
This photograph of red knots and ruddy turnstones shows a very small part of large flocks of different shorebird species gathered at Reeds Beach on the Delaware Bay in New Jersey to feast on the horseshoe crab eggs. Photograph taken on 5/15/2018
