The Athlone 10KM and 5KM road races were held in Clonown Village, Co. Roscommon, Ireland on Sunday 28th of April 2013 at 14:30 and 15:00. Clonown is a small townland on the west bank of the River Shannon and is situated about 3 miles south of the town of Athlone. Whilst the townland is almost completely rural it is accessed easily from major routes and towns by the M6 motorway.
This race completely defied the fact that it is only the second year of it's existence. Every aspect of the organisation was professional: from stewarting, registration, start of races exactly on time, car-parking, and post race refreshments. The 10KM route followed an anti-clockwise loop. The race started on the L2035 Togher Road (about 100m from Clonown Centre) and heads towards the old Ballinasloe Rd and back via Creggan with the finish at the Clonown Community Centre. The 5KM run was added this year to provide a managable challenge for people who are following programmes such as Operation Transformation. The 5KM race route follows a meandering around the townland. The race starts at the church in Clonown and head clockwise around the Ballinaculla townland which offers lovely views of the River Shannon. The route then goes to the Drumlosh road and runs for 1.5 km before the roundabout which is the 3km mark. The race then turns around and returns back to the village and finish at Clonown Community Centre. Both races share some of the race route for the Flatline Athlone Half held in September (www.athlonehalfmarathon.com/) which makes the race routes very fast and flat.
Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 400 people took part in both events with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: This was a wonderfully bright dry afternoon but a very strong wind made difficult running conditions in places.
Course: Very flat accurately measured course on rural roads and bog roadway. There were waterstops provided at various points and by locals along the route. Very well stewarded.
Refreshments: There were lots of refreshments served in the community center aftwards.

I ran the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set!
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
If you want to contribute something for these images?
We do not charge for these images. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the image(s) you request are good enough that you would ordinarily pay for their purchase we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible.

This is a photograph from the 14th annual Daingean Festival 5KM Road Race and Fun Run held in Daingean, Co. Offaly, on Friday 2nd August 2013 at 19:30. The race is held annually on the Friday before the August bank holiday weekend and over the years has built a solid reputation as a challenging 5KM. Several former olympians have set course record times on the course as well as personal bests for many other runners over the years. This year the course changed from it's traditional 4 laps of Daingean village (see below). The race also benefits from the fantastic support of athletes from the running clubs of Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, and beyond.
Congratulations to all of the organising committee, those from Tullamore Harriers and Naomh Mhuire AC who assisted with race organisation, and the local community who come out in strength to offer support and encouragement to the runners. The race marks one of the first events in the annual Daingean Music and Holiday Festival. The Daingean 5KM road race is an example of a small local race which year-in year-out attracts a quality field for all categories whilst also providing a great opportunity for those new to running to sample a race experience.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There was about 180 participants
Weather: Whilst there was a threat of thundery showers the evening was dry and humid with temperatures around 18C. The runners had a breeze in their faces for the first 2 km but this turned to a tail breeze for the remainder of the race.
Course: The race starts at the Canal at the Edenderry road end of the village. The race then proceeds to do one full loop of the Circular road and then proceeds out the main Tullamore road. At 3KM the course takes a series of right turns which brings the race back to the finish just off the main street opposite the hall.
Location Map: Start (goo.gl/maps/ubSxX) and finish just off main street (goo.gl/maps/skbk0)
Refreshments: There was a very impressive selection of refreshments provided for participants in the village hall afterwards.

Abbey Stone Refreshments
Killarney, Ireland hamlet, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Williamsburg, VA
The doorway in the center of the Abbey Stone Theatre façade houses a refreshment stand, serving snack foods like turkey legs and pretzels. I believe it's been in this space since the early 2010s, but at the time of taking it was out of service; I was only able to capture these photos because I needed to exit the theatre to use the restroom and I was directed through this area. The menu is identical to what's served at Brady's Drinks across the way (minus corn dogs and alcohol), and for that reason the park doesn't seem to prioritize having this stand open as well.
This is a photograph from the start of 28th Annual South O'Hanlon 5KM Road Race which was held at Seneschalstown GAA Grounds, Beauparc, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Wednesday 1st July 2015 at 20:00. The race is part of the Meath County Board series of races. South O'Hanlon are a well known running club in Meath and beyond and this road race is amongst the longest running road races in Meath and Leinster. The route (www.mapmyrun.com/profile/2980976/) starts in the beautiful Beauparc Station where the Navan-Drogheda industrial railway crossing is situated. A left handed loop course around Yellow Furze parish brings runners back to Beauparc and into the finish in Seneschalstown GAA. The race was ran in beautiful summer weather with a temperature of over 20C recorded at the start of the race. This meant perfect, if a little hot, conditions for the race with little or no breeze. After the race runners and families were able to enjoy the great spread of refreshments outside in the sunny summer evening. Over 200 people took part and the results by Precision Timing are available here [www.precisiontiming.net/result.aspx?v=2753]. Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Photo archive of the first ever Find Your Mate at TATE’S Singles Mingle event!
Took place on: Friday, August 16, 2013
We can’t guarantee you’ll find your “happily ever after” …but we CAN guarantee an interesting time!
This was our attempt at creating an event where like-minded South Florida singles could meet and make friends. The actual attendance for the event FAR exceeded our expectations and many of the fun ideas we had planned just didn't work as well with 4x the amount of people expected! But, all in all many people had fun and actually met new people! Matches were genuinely made... and that really makes it all worthwhile.
This event was free to attend and featured our fancy unicorn matchmakers who were (trying to) make matches with magic, the grumpy old puppet Zoltate, Just a Couple of G’s live podcast, facilitating awkward Q&As and encouraging words+laughs, complimentary refreshments, a $100 raffle for all participants and more.
This event ran concurrent with the “Prints Charming” art opening in our upstairs gallery.

After ng seminar nagpunta kmi ng group sa Wildlife...hihihi..palamig muna ng softdrinks....ang init kc eh..hihihi
I use refreshments in the looser sense of the word!
I'll have to explain for the uninitiated: Oscypki is a smoked cheese made from sheep milk - actually it is very nice, especially fried or grilled. Zyntyca is a drink of the devil - very much a Marmite type of thing, love it or hate it... Now, I like Marmite, I spread it thickly on bread. Zyntyca on the other hand... Well, I can taste it even as I write this.
All I was told it would be like sour milk. OK, sour milk isn't too bad. However, this stuff its very sour and probably well past its drink by date - lets just say it tasted fizzy and had lumps!
The black clouds are a visual representation of what happens in your digestive system. "A storm is brewing!" Now, if you like this stuff by all means drink it, but if you're like me, stay clear!
On the plus side, the Oscypki from this place was probably one of the best I have ever had.
