I went shopping with my wife today. I save $5,000 because we didn't buy anything. See my furniture shopping set here.
Strobist: AB800 at 1/8th power, bare bulb under stand which glass sat on. Slipped a sheet of black paper under glass stand top, as well as on either side of drinking glass (just out of frame). Vivitar 285 at 1/16th power shot straight up behind stand for more backdrop lighting. AB800 fired via cybersyncs. Vivitar fired via slave unit.
Summer is here in Arizona. The temps have been hanging around 108-110.
You can stay in side or go to the Mall, or take in a Movie.
Those things cost Money, so we stay at home and I enjoy a nice refreshing adult beverage.
Of course in my case my own home brew.

Glass on kitchen top. Flash under the table pointing 45 degrees towards a white paper hang on the wall behind. In lightroom, process the RAW in tungsten to get blue effect.
The old Washington Square Park in New York (currently under renovations) used to have this wonderful fountain where children would play and anyone, like this gentleman, would sit down to cool down and relax a bit...
Why do good things always have to go?
Water from this spring has given cool refreshment to many
people through the years. We used to stop here and fill our
jugs when we were working in the tobacco. At that time, there
was a dipper hanging nearby. Everyone drank from it and
thought nothing about it. Nowadays people would frown on
sharing a drinking vessel . . . or even drinking "unpurified"
water, for that matter. This water is as pure as any overly-priced
bottled water sold in stores.
“In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.”
After a long hike with a heavy backpack, it was good to sit down on a picnic by the small stream today. Ice cold Coca Cola tastes refreshingly good from the cold running stream.

...Took my 50mm out into the garden not for long as it was raining and captured this flower head.
