For Macro Mondays 'Cold' theme.
The theme for “Smile on Saturday” for the 4th of December is “ribbons”. For this theme, I needed to look no further than my dining table! I love ribbon and I always keep and recycle ribbons given to me on gifts. I think it is a shame to waste them after only one use. Some ribbons I keep and use for photography and craft projects. This ribbon I will keep. Owing to ongoing lockdowns in Melbourne throughout this year, I only recently caught up with a very close friend of mine who gave me my Easter gift (yes, it has been that long since I last saw her). Her Easter gift to me (a beautiful book of black and white photography to inspire me even more) was wrapped beautifully and tied with this rather delicious ribbon featuring colourful watermelon slices.
I usually wind my ribbons up around my right index and middle fingers to then store them away, so when the theme was announced, I simply pulled out the ribbon in a long curl and carefully arranged it to create this rather abstract photo of my refreshing ribbon. I do hope that you like my choice for the theme and that it makes you smile!
It's too bad I don't have any time right now to process anything cool... so I goofed around with this capture for couple of minutes so that I can upload something. Little background how I came up with this work here. I liked this capture I loved how this looked in b&w but I loved the water color it's so refreshing ... so I decided to compromise a little bit. I hope you guys like it. Let me know.
What? This work already made it to Explore ... very strange but that's OK with me... lol.
Have a great Night or Day everyone!

Have a wonderful day !
Last week, I took a break from little bird and did a couples days in Cape May. Day 1 was just okay, but at dawn on Day 2, I had a fantastic morning capturing about 6 species in golden hour. I have a few images that I really loved, but this one felt really good as I was shooting it and I love the way it came out. My best capture of a Least Sandpiper just after dawn. You can see his reflection in the soft shallow waters and the green in the background just complete the scene. Many times get them foraging in the mud or plain sand, so this was really refreshing. Did I mention I love this?www.skeysimages.com
I missed posting this one in autumn even though I liked it very much but somehow I forgot it,
I wish our memories would be like pictures in some files, finding something nice now and then ,
It's starting to get pretty warm... the seals don't haul themselves all the way out of the bay on warm days, they tend rest where the waves still flow over them.
