Raindrop Refraction

We had some rain yesterday.

Exploring droplet refraction photography. Fun stuff.

Seltzer with frozen cherries and blueberries. The spoon is reflecting the sunlight and the water is refracting the spoon. The seltzer surface and the cherries also show reflections.

First time I have ever tried taking a refracted water droplet image. I have a new appreciation for those that are really good at it. :)

It's been awhile since I played with water drop macros. I had a fun hour with these pretty flowers from my gardens yesterday afternoon.

my favorite !

Explore #101

Pieris flowers covered in rain drops. The bloom covered shrub and a deep blue sky is refracted in some of them.

I had a glass of water on my desk and the sun came streaming through the window and I saw these wonderful refractive and reflective patterns and there was my PoD

It's quite the treat to see rainbows dancing across the face of my favorite waterfall to photograph.

Refraction of light in a drop of water. Scale 2:1.

My somewhat distorted and grey view of the Covid world that I have inhabited for the last two years.

Wanted to try this for sometime and finally got round to it this weekend. Pretty pleased with the results of my first attempt. Had trouble with reflections from softboxes, tried they, up close, far away, up high down low but could not eliminated them altogether. This image has been through photoshop, but had to pull back and keep it as near to the orginal as possible because although the photoshop version was good, it was a little 'to' good.

I debated whether or not I should post this, this is the syringe I use to place some of my macro drops when working in the studio. And of course, this is just water colored red for effect in PS. Refraction of a band-aid box @ 5x magnification, Focus Stacked, Helicon Focus
