An aerial view over Reflection Canyon at extreme low water level this year.
Lake Powell is the second largest man-made reservoir in the United States. It locates on the Colorado River in Utah and Arizona, United States. Plagued by climate change-fueled drought and increasing demand for water, it has fallen to its lowest level on record since it was first filled more than 50 years ago. When the lake level had dropped far enough that the exposed canyon walls created a pale outline around the lake. This is how Reflection Canyon, one of side canyon in the lake powell, was seen during the lowest water level.
Most of the time I photograph reflections in water when there is no or little wind resulting in reflections as a mirror. Sometimes people ask me if it ever is windy in Groningen. Well yes, and so here is the proof... :-)
Taken at Corpus den Hoorn, Groningen, The Netherlands.
Fuji X-E2 + XF10-24mm at 15mm, f/8, 15 sec. exposure at ISO 200.

When it gets too dark to see with the naked eye, I play with light to capture traces of a performance of dancing light and human stillness. During the few seconds while the picture is being taken, Kim looks at the stars in the silence of the night. In those moments it seems like time has slowed down.
The reflection of over-hanging tree branches, and clouds and the blue sky, on the undulating surface of the river.
I always wanted to try this but kept forgetting until this afternoon. Actually, I wanted the sun in the reflection (but I only remembered to do this after the sun had gone down).
Sorry guys but I have to post and run this time again. I'm going the zZZzzzZzzz. Just went online to post this. Thank you for visiting my stream. Catch up with you tomorrow.

The temple leading to Bayin Nyi cave. The Bayin Nyi cave is located north of Hpa-An; the closet notable town is Thaton. As you walk up the hill to the cave, there is a large entrance chamber that is filled with many statues and Buddhas.
"'It′s like you're my mirror (oh-oh)
My mirror staring back at me (oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh)
I couldn′t get any bigger (oh-oh)
With anyone else beside me (oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh)
And now it's clear as this promise
That we′re makin'
Two reflections into one
′Cause it's like you're my mirror (oh-oh)
My mirror staring back at me, staring back at me"

I can never resist a visit to this location, although I hadn't planned to shoot it today I couldn't just pass by while the light was nice and the lake was still, I'd never really managed to get a full reflection of the tree in the frame on a still lake, it's harder than it sounds as you need the right conditions, the right angle, and ideally the right time of year where the tree has leaves to make it stand out from the background (or ideally a really misty morning).
There was a little mist about this morning which always helps, but to a full misty morning would have put pay to the Autumn reflections behind the tree, there always seems to be a sacrifice somewhere! There was one other photographer down here this morning, a Scottish guy, who I was talking to who like me had returned here numerous times in search of something special - (I'd like to see your stuff if you end up reading this), I'll continue to do the same as well, I just really really enjoy seeing the scene unfold through the different seasons, even if you come away empty handed, there's a lot worse places to be standing around at the beginning of a day it's that stunning a place.
