A different view of The National Mall in Washington DC. Unfortunately this area of The Mall is now closed off I believe due to turf restoration which is sorely needed but will be closed until December 2015.
Amberwing dragonfly perched on a baby alligator's eye. I liked the amberwing's reflection in the water. The gator is about 3 feet long and is not captive. Taken at Brookegreen Gardens, SC
A photo I made earlier this month while up at Mt Rainier. Reflection Lake is one of my favorite places to visit but I still feel like the perfect shot has continued to evade me. I will continue to keep going here until I finally feel like I have capture a great moment.

Lousy reflection! See clearly and you'll know what I mean. I had less than 1 minute to capture this, position was all not right. Just two snaps, and then I had to rush to board the ferry to Phi Phi.

A portion of downtown Austin, Texas. The Frost Tower is the building on the left with the pointy top. The Congress Avenue Bridge is on the right. It is home to approximately 1.5 million Mexican free-tail bats. They migrate to Mexico in the winter. During July & August, when their population is at its highest, they emerge from under the bridge after sunset in swarms so thick that they look like smoke.
