This shop window in the fashionable area of Montpellier in Cheltenham shows the reflections of the other shops in this courtyard setting.
Reflections off a van window of some interesting juxatposed building styles. This sums up Albuquerque architecture for me - no single distinctive unifying style, but rugged individual styles jumbled together side by side.
Daily Shoot #371 Find or make a reflection in a window today and shoot through it to create a layered composition
When looking at some of the reflection shots I had taken I began to wonder if Monet and the impressionists had developed their style after sitting lakeside and watching the world through reflections. Sometimes what we see in the mirror is better than what we see in real life.

These birds are so gorgeous!!! Happened to try again with doing the reflection bit with another bird. Did several tried with this one. Had to opt to use a flash. It was pretty dark in the wading bird aviary.

"The Roseate Spoonbill (Platalea ajaja, sometimes separated in the monotypic genus Ajaja) is a wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill family Threskiornithidae. It is a mainly resident breeder in South America, the Caribbean, and the Gulf coast of the USA.
The Roseate Spoonbill nests in trees, often mangroves, laying 2 to 5 eggs. It is 80 cm tall, with a 120–130 cm wingspan. It is long-legged and long-necked and has a long, spatulate bill. Adults have a bare greenish head, white neck, breast and back, and are otherwise a deep pink. The bill is grey.
Sexes are similar, but immature birds have white, feathered heads and the pink of the plumage is paler. The bill is yellowish or pinkish. Unlike herons, spoonbills fly with their necks outstretched. In 2006, a banded bird 16 years old was discovered, making it the oldest known individual in the wild. [1] This bird easily mistaken for a flamingo by someone who has not seen it before.
This species feeds in shallow fresh or coastal waters on fish, crustaceans and shrimp and (maybe) other water creatures, swinging its bill from side to side as it steadily walks through the water, often in groups."
Despite the queen being the most diverse piece both technically and strategically, the chess board is still a male's world. This is an analogy that applies to the broader social context. Society is haunted by patriarchy and reflections of this REAL apparition are everywhere.
"Patriarchy is like the elephant in the room that we don't talk about, but how could it not affect the planet radically when it's the superstructure of human society." - Ani DiFranco

Reflections....the architecture of Jean Nouvel and Frank Gehry.
"Vision Machine"....this is the term Jean Nouvel used to describe his building on 11th Ave. in Chelsea. Here you see it reflected within the glass facade of Frank Gehry's neighboring IAC Building.
Image with my Hasselblad 500cm
Through the mirror of my mind
Time after time
I see reflections of you and me
Reflections of
The way life used to be
Reflections of
The love you took from me
Oh, I'm all alone now
No love to shield me
Trapped in a world
That's a distorted reality
Happiness you took from me
And left me alone
With only memories
Through the mirror of my mind
Through these tears that I'm crying
Reflects a hurt I can't control
'Cause although you're gone
I keep holding on
To the happy times
Ooh, when you were mine
As I peer through the window
Of lost time
Looking over my yesterday
And all the love I gave all in vain
(All the love) All the love
That I've waisted
(All the tears) All the tears
That I've tasted
All in vain
Through the hollow of my tears
I see a dream that's lost
From the hurt
That you have caused
Everywhere I turn
Seems like everything I see
Reflects the love that used to be
In you I put
All my faith and trust
Right before my eyes
My world has turned to dust
After all the nights
I sat alone and wept
Just a handful of promises
Are all that's left of loving you
Reflections of
The way life used to be
Reflections of
The love you took from me
In you I put
All my faith and trust
Right before my eyes
My world has turned to dust
