This is the pond just outside of the AT&T offices in the Hoffman Estates/South Barrington area, overlooking I-90 which I use everyday to and from work. I decided to stop by on my way home because the colors on these trees were so tempting. The reflection was a bonus. My thanks to the setting sun for the wonderful lighting.
This is a Sparrowhawk water reflection flipped vertical. Uncropped, taken from 2 metres on 300mm. Too close to get actual bird and reflection in so I took photo of the reflection only....I also took around 100 pics of the actual bird too :-0
Another picture taken with my phone. The camera is actually not too bad. Especially if I post-process in Lightroom later.
"Balanced Reflection"

Water gathered in small pools all over the sandstone basins of the area immediately after a winter snow storm, providing an opportunity to capture Balanced Rock in a reflection. I shot this one a few hours before sunset, while clouds still gathered on the distant horizon. In the distant background are Turret Arch and the La Sal Mountains. Another great adventure with Dustin LeFevre and Steve Howa.
JCB 220X LC tracked excavator that had been working on the demolition of some disused industrial units in Altens, Aberdeen.

I'm starting to get the hang of my new camera, but it has been a learning curve. I'm really amazed by its ability to capture a wide dynamic range and it's low noise. Coming from a D200 there's almost too much detail. I'm pushing hard to master this beast, but it's a tricky camera.
