Through the mirror of my mind
Time after time
I see reflections of you and me
Reflections of
The way life used to be
Reflections of
The love you took from me
Oh, I'm all alone now
No love to shield me
Trapped in a world
That's a distorted reality
Happiness you took from me
And left me alone
With only memories
Through the mirror of my mind
Through these tears that I'm crying
Reflects a hurt I can't control
'Cause although you're gone
I keep holding on
To the happy times
Ooh, when you were mine
As I peer through the window
Of lost time
Looking over my yesterday
And all the love I gave all in vain
(All the love) All the love
That I've waisted
(All the tears) All the tears
That I've tasted
All in vain
Through the hollow of my tears
I see a dream that's lost
From the hurt
That you have caused
Everywhere I turn
Seems like everything I see
Reflects the love that used to be
In you I put
All my faith and trust
Right before my eyes
My world has turned to dust
After all the nights
I sat alone and wept
Just a handful of promises
Are all that's left of loving you
Reflections of
The way life used to be
Reflections of
The love you took from me
In you I put
All my faith and trust
Right before my eyes
My world has turned to dust

The reflection pool has been drained, but the puddles that remain give a hint of the architectural intent... These days, I don't think you can get away with unguarded pools of water, and I suppose a barrier here would be equally innappropriate.

.....on Blue Lake, St Bathans.
More of the Blue Lake and its amazing reflections.
In 1864, Kildare Hill loomed 120 metres over St Bathans. Within a few years, gold mining reduced it to a 68m deep pit that is now the Blue Lake, the deepest mining hold in the Southern Hemisphere. From the 1880s, miners used hydraulic technologies, which rather like a vacuum cleaner sucked gravel out of the pit for gold recovery. Although a considerable amount of gold was mined at St Bathans, fears that the town would be undermined ended operations in 1934. The huge hole was left to fill with water draining off surrounding cliffs bringing with it minerals which normally form the intense blue colour of the lake. Today the Blue Lake is popular for camping, walks, swimming and other water sports.

Day 4 of our two week holiday in Central Otago, NZ.
Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. Meant to be a quiet day of reflection - confession and apologies for the previous year, and looking forward to resolutions for the new one. It is a fast day, and although I'm excused due to breastfeeding, seemingly Thea was determined to observe the fast - refusing to feed at all overnight (despite waking at 8, 9, 12.30, 1.30, 3 and 4) meaning I started off the day feeling a bit short tempered and very full boobed.
Despite a bit of distinctly un-yom-kippurish fishwifing (primarily when Megan shut Eli's hand in the piano just when I'd got Thea latched on) we managed a fairly spiritual day in the end - the morning at the children's service and then back for another stint at synagogue this afternoon when I'd been asked to do a 'mitzvah' - open the ark for a portion of the service. It was a little nerve wracking, Thea came up with me in the sling and thankfully was impeccably behaved. Megan and Eli watched for most of it, but Mum was on hand to whisk them away before their fidgeting turned to full on disruptiveness.
This wasn't quite how I'd imagined the photo, but not a million miles away, and I had to stop as the three children were running riot and the sharp/breakable reflective objects I'd tacked to the mirror with blue tack were beginning to fall.
fallen leaves back onto trees in the puddle.
some pictures from my hometown today.
I will post rest of travel pix later on.

The setting sun gave beautiful reflections in the wet sand on the beach.
I like the sky detail very much, so wanna make a reflection of it. I applied Ocean Ripple Filter here. I know it's not smooth but I'll stop here. Feel free to tell me what do u think. Thank you.
sometimes it's nice to just sit around with a few good friends. I appreciate those quiet times. they remind me how simple it all really can be.
and yes, this image is upside down. ; )
