Would you believe how many different colours are available? Some came w/ binders, others were bought on holiday - e. g. the bright red one, which I found in Amsterdam.

An estimated 3 million litres of water have already been consumed this year alone.
Keurig refillable pods. We ground our own coffee and fill these pods. Each one is one cup of coffee so we never have to throw out what's left in a coffee pot. The savings are amazing.

This is standard among most refillable mechanical pencils, but if you've never refilled a pencil before, this isn't obvious, so here it is:
1. Pull off the cap.
2. Pull out the eraser.
3. The lead magazine is underneath. The Kuru Toga leaves only a hole by which to access it; others usually have it more open. Either way, this is where you put lead in.
4. Put the eraser back in.
5. Put the cap back on.

The reason for the refill here as opposed to Holme Junctio was becuase the smaller tank was not being used, therefore this one was too heavy for the access bridges to the normal place.

Captured this guy refilling his coolant tank with anti-freeze in the parking lot of a big box store. A scene played out across this country every day. Often, the empty container is just left on the pavement, but I didn't stick around to see what this guy did.
If you view it large you can see the huge ash hanging from his cigarette! Glad it's not gasoline.
The story of three apparently similar Papermate ballpoint pens, part 2. (Part 1 can be seen here)The one in the middle made in West Germany, the other two in the USA. As I couldn't get a new Papermate refill I bought two unbranded refills. They fit easily into the pen on the left but they jam in the one on the right. The inside mechanism must be different in the pen in the middle as they won't fit in at all. I bought Schneider Express 225 refills – but with exactly the same results.
A Flickr friend suggested I buy Schmidt 700M refills, so I did. I got ten for less than £6 - pretty cheap (they're only 50p each but the postage made it worth buying ten) And whoopee they fit the pen on the right and the one on the left … but not the one in the middle. They go in and engage with the mechanism but the spring is slightly too wide so they just drop through. Still I now have two working pens and fourteen refills - that should keep me going for a good long time.
The reason I persist with these pens is that they're fairly slim and fit inside the rings of my Pocket Filofax 😀
Go now to part 3.
