These are Proxabrush refills stuck into a styrofoam base. It reminded me of an aerial view of a forest in winter.
Done for Macro Mondays: "My Closest" theme
"The challenge will be to get as close as you possibly can and to include a visible indication of size by placing your subject on/by a ruler, grid or graph paper," according to the theme description.

I'm not going to make you guess what this is :)
It's my hubby's favourite glass beer mug. I was looking at the glass in the bottom of the mug the other day and thought it would make a great photograph. So I laid it on its side and focused on the bottom of the glass.
Taken with MOG Oreston 50mm f1.8 at about f4, with extension tube.

The Happy Caturday theme for 3 April 2021 is "Colourful Cats.” The group comment mentioning the theme said "Some people have beautifully coloured cats, like Tikki, so may find this an easy challenge."
I had some tulips and I thought I would try to photograph her all curled up with extra color from the tulips. I will neither confirm nor deny that I hid some treats in them, she extracted the treats and wanted more, and since the first set of photos was no good, I hid some more treats, which she got out but didn't finish, then she did curl up again next to the tulips. As it turns out, while the round orange/black/white cat with the tulips as a close shot was more colourful, I decided I liked these more. Even though there are a lot of neutral colors here. That's the mystery that is Tikki, full of surprises.

Whoops , Im an hour late for the MM pool...
After our recent heavy rains, the newly refilled Island Pond spilled over its dam and happily gurgled down the creek. It was a good thing to see. Well, one more warm day to go out shooting here today before the big cold front bringing out first extended taste of winter arrives tomorrow.

An amboli bush frog with his vocal sac just after a croak. He will start croaking again when it's filled up with air like a balloon.
Preview of a small one day build I put together yesterday. Haven't had a chance to photograph the full thing well. Pics of entire dio will probably be up this weekend.
"Ah! like gold fall the leaves in the wind,
long years numberless as the wings of trees!
The years have passed like swift draughts
of the sweet mead in lofty halls
beyond the West, beneath the blue vaults of Varda,
wherein the stars tremble in the song
of her voice, holy and queenly.
Who now shall refill the cup for me?
For now the Kindler, Varda, the Queen of the Stars,
From Mount Everwhite has uplifted her hands like clouds,
and all paths are drowned deep in shadow;
and out of a grey country darkness lies
on the foaming waves between us, and mist
covers the jewels of Calacirya for ever.
Now lost, lost to those from the East is Valimar!
Farewell! Farewell! Maybe thou shalt find Valimar.
Maybe even thou shalt find it. Farewell!"
Passing heavy rain shower replenishes the waters of Loch Maree, Gairloch. The rapidly changing light was amazing to watch as streams of evening light broached the low clouds.
I spotted this Bellbird (aka Bell Miner) whilst out shooting images with fellow flickr tog Joe Micallef yesterday at the Hunter Wetlands (Shortland, NSW; Australia).
The Wetlands isn't living up to its name at present........ most of the dams around the location are completely dry!!
Hopefully we'll get some decent rainfall soon to refill the dams!
Thanks for any comments, views or favorites - always much appreciated!
Wishing you a wonderful day and weekend!

My second time I had a chance to photograph Amtrak's "Pepsi Can" P42 had a lot in common with the first time one year ago. Both shots are from the same place (RO interlocking on the RF&P), and at similar times of the day and year. The main difference is that I had neutral overcast light for my second attempt, which is preferably to what would have otherwise been a very backlit northbound shot. The train here is 20, Amtrak's northbound Crescent.
A very serious looking Tofu waited for the return of THE BIRDS after they had all fled in panic when I appeared on the scene to refill the feeders. It's kind of annoying that they are afraid of me, the one who feeds them every day, and that they pay no attention to Tofu who is a CAT after all even if he pretends to be a stuffed toy.
