Refill. Klaas, Santito en San, de drijvende krachten achter dit nieuwe concept voelen goed aan wat partypeople verlangen op een zondagmiddag/avond uitgaan. Een mooie line-up op een intieme locatie. Jammer van de lage opkomst. Volle bak was zeker verdiend geweest. Aan die 2 genoemde aspecten lag dat zeker niet. Maar de peeps die er waren hebben van begin tot eind kunnen genieten en springen. Vooral de B2B-set van Klaas en San was voor mij het hoogtepunt van de avond. Beide heren werken al langer samen en dat zie en hoor je goed terug! Trance voert de boventoon in hun set, maar uitstapjes naar house worden niet geschuwd. Een vloeiende, swingende set van begin tot eind was het zeker. Maar ook Martijn, Dazzle wist de toon goed te zetten met zijn energieke set. Misschien dat de lagere opkomst ook lag aan de muziekstijlen die op de feestpagina op Flock genoemd werden: Club, House, Techhouse en Techno. Er staat dus geen Trance bij. Maar dat was voor 70% echt wat er gedraaid werd die avond. Dus tranceminded Nederland, ga hier de volgende keer zeker eens kijken. De entreeprijs ligt nog onder de 10 Euro! En daarvoor krijg je veel entertainment. Samen met het vriendelijk personeel, een stijlvol ingerichte club, nice partypeople en toptrance staan garant voor een topfeest. Dus ik hoop jullie allemaal weer te zien op 1 november as. De club is goed berekbaar met de auto en de trein. Die B2B-set was zeker voor herhaling vatbaar, mag ook wel 2 uur wat mij betreft heren :) Met Mark Norman in de line-up wordt het vast weer een "trancy" night. Dank aan Klaas, San, Wim en Shirley voor de prima organisatie en mooie aankleding die avond!

Carbonated water eases the symptoms of indigestion (dyspepsia) and constipation, according to a recent study in the European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (2002; 14: 9919).
Dyspepsia is characterized by a group of symptoms including pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen, early sense of fullness after eating, bloating, belching, nausea, and sometimes vomiting. Approximately 25% of people living in Western societies suffer from dyspepsia every year, and the condition accounts for 2 to 5% of all visits to primary care providers. Inadequate motion in the digestive tract (peristalsis) is believed to be an important cause of dyspepsia. Other gastrointestinal problems, such as irritable bowel syndrome and constipation, frequently accompany dyspepsia.
Antacid medicationsover the counter acid neutralizers, prescription medicines that block stomach acid production, and medications that stimulate peristalsisare primary treatments for dyspepsia. However, antacids can interfere with the digestion and absorption of nutrients, and there is a possible association between long-term use of the acid-blocking drugs and increased risk of stomach cancer. Other healthcare providers recommend dietary changes, such as eating small frequent meals, reducing fat intake, and identifying and avoiding specific aggravating foods. For smokers with dyspepsia, quitting smoking is also recommended. Constipation is treated with increased water and fiber intake. Laxative medications are also prescribed by some practitioners, while others may test for food sensitivities and imbalances in the bacteria of the colon and treat these to alleviate constipation.
In this study, carbonated water was compared with tap water for its effect on dyspepsia, constipation, and general digestive function. Twenty-one people with indigestion and constipation were randomly assigned to drink at least 1. 5 liters daily of either carbonated or tap water for at least 15 days or until the end of the 30-day trial. At the beginning and the end of the trial all of the participants were given indigestion and constipation questionnaires and tests to evaluate stomach fullness after eating, gastric emptying (movement of food out of the stomach), gallbladder emptying, and intestinal transit time (the time for ingested substances to travel from mouth to anus).
Scores on the dyspepsia and constipation questionnaires were significantly better for those treated with carbonated water than for those who drank tap water. Eight of the ten people in the carbonated water group had marked improvement in dyspepsia scores at the end of the trial, two had no change and one worsened. In contrast, seven of eleven people in the tap water group had worsening of dyspepsia scores, and only four experienced improvement. Constipation scores improved for eight people and worsened for two after carbonated water treatment, while scores for five people improved and six worsened in the tap water group. Further evaluation revealed that carbonated water specifically decreased early stomach fullness and increased gallbladder emptying, while tap water did not.
Carbonated water has been used for centuries to treat digestive complaints, yet virtually no research exists to support its effectiveness. The carbonated water used in this trial not only had significantly more carbon dioxide than does tap water, but also was found to have much higher levels of minerals including sodium, potassium, sulfate, fluoride, chloride, magnesium, and calcium. Other studies have shown that both the bubbles of carbon dioxide and the presence of high levels of minerals can stimulate digestive function. Additional research is needed to determine whether this mineral-rich carbonated water would be more effective at relieving dyspepsia than would carbonated tap water. flavoredsparklingwater.com

Lifetime Dream # 137 of my list of 155: I will keep a collection of 500 G-2 pen refills, displaying them in a nice wood casing, to show how dedicated I am toward perfectionism in my writing and a representation to how much writing I have accomplished in my life.
I have been accused of being OCD about a few things in my life and I will admit that this is a dead-on description. I am “particular” (that’s the word people with OCD use) about a few things as this photo blog will showcase: guitar picks, guitar strings, and yes- even the pens that I use. I know it might sound like a silly dream to have, but for the amount of writing that I do- I am pretty picky about the “tools of my trade” as one might say.
Here’s a good example of the amount of writing that I do. This picture only shows 2/3 of my first journal… 2,000 pages:

I used to work for a family-owned wholesale distribution company and so I had the opportunity to meet with several different vendors and try their products. Bic, Pilot, Zebra, Pentel, Papermate… we dealt with them all. It seemed like every pen I sampled either skipped or was inconsistent with the ink flow, and that always seemed to find a way to annoy me; but I’ve never had that problem with G-2 Pens from Pilot. I love their new bold pen that is a 1.0mm. For journaling I’ll only use the 0.7mm. I guess even within the OCD there’s OCD!
I am over half way to my goal of 500 pens being used. I need to build a better casing for these pen refills and seal the barrels (you can see in the glass where the remaining ink leaked out of some). It may be OCD, but it’s effective. When I look at how many I’ve gone through I get a sense of pride, and a renewed sense of direction to write even more!
Tried to focus on the texture of teh gas tank and bring out feelings of hard work in days gone by, much how I feel today on this rainy afternoon.

Topped off our PV Solar battery bank this morning. It took about 30
minutes to fill 24 batteries. Everybody complains about maintaining
batteries, but adding water is the least cumbersome. Cleaning the
terminals is the part that really sucks. I think they took about five
gallons of rain water.

These moths must think it's still Cinco de Mayo. I'm getting spoiled with them. On a hot night, nothing cools you down like a nice margarita on ice. This time, I was fortunate to have one that landed against my window rather than a wall. With a little effort I was able to get the flash to not bounce off of the window for some "on black" shots. Enjoy!
