www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistral/palissy_fr?ACTION=CHER...

The Al-Rifa'i Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الرفاعى, transliterated also as Al-Rifai, Al-Refai, Al-Refa'i, and named in English the Royal Mosque), is located in Cairo, Egypt, in Midan al-Qal'a, adjacent to the Cairo Citadel. The building is located opposite the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, which dates from around 1361, and was architecturally conceived as a complement to the older structure. This was part of a vast campaign by the 19th century rulers of Egypt to both associate themselves with the perceived glory of earlier periods in Egypt's Islamic history and modernize the city. The mosque was constructed next to two large public squares and off of several European style boulevards constructed around the same time.

The exact opposite of something going exactly to plan. Not as many boards as we were told, not mulshed or set up. Not enough room to do the piece we wanted. 5 separate visits from the local constabulary.
Still a great day though. Painted on an invite as part of the regional street dance and b-boying heats. Kudos to the organisers for the dance part, not so the graf bit. Shouts to Squid, Rhys, Eyes and Refa.
Front on shot impossible due to the sun. We're waiting on some shots from later in the day

The building itself is a melange of styles taken primarily from the Mamluk period of Egyptian history, including its dome and minaret. The building contains a large prayer hall as well as the shrines of al-Rifa'i and two other local saints, Ali Abi-Shubbak and Yahya al-Ansari.

01.7 De Carlske Fabriker (DCF) (1)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1957 – 1968 (11 years):
Production Manager and Chief Chemist
De Carlske Fabriker Brdr. S. & B. Lund (Denmark).
DCF was established in 1916. Main products: Wall paper paste (Arabin and Favorit) and industrial adhesives for the following areas and industries: Agriculture; food and beverages; paper and paper products; printing and publishing and foundries. Partner company: Starch Products Ltd., Slough, England. Export: Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East. Responsibility areas: Production, product development, quality management and industrial customers.
DCF was the first Gluemanufacturer in Europe (1957-62) to remove and replace all product components which might influence the human health or the environment in a negative way.
Harmless salts replaced chromium components, gum arabic replaced plumbum compositions and cellulose fibers were used instread of asbestos just to mention a few examples.
This was long before any laws concerning these subjects were effective.
Another milestone in this period was the creation of The Maximum Value Method (MVM) which ment a completely new approach to product development methodology (see next section). New products developed using MVM had a Complaint-Index (the amount of customer complaints per 100.000 produced units) being only 1% of the market average for customer complaints for compareable products.
The new developed products using MVM had another feature. Normally one or more characteristics of a new-introduced product has to be adjusted and improved after some months on the market. This was never the case when MVM was used as the product development tool. MVM-products were from the very beginning of their lifecircles optimal answers to the expectations of the market.
A reason for the above mentioned achievements through MVM was without any doubt, that there was established a very close cooperation between our laboratory and 1 - 3 customers (users of the product to be developed) and from the first day of the product development process.
