I got a notice in my letterbox a week or two ago informing me that they'd be doing a hazard reduction burn in the area soon.
Today was the day.
I took a walk down the street to the edge of the bush in the afternoon when (i think) they were more or less finished the job.
Still lots of smoke.
Probably my unit reeks of smoke (and me too), but now that i've been out in the thick of it, i can't actually tell anymore.

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Regional Office for Arab States, in collaboration with Kuwait State’s Fire Force, successfully organized the Tenth Arab Partnership Meeting for Disaster Risk Reduction from 21–22 February in Kuwait City. The event served as a platform for representatives from 19 Arab countries, DRR stakeholders, and regional UN agencies to convene and discuss the progress and challenges in implementing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in the region.

This is what happens if you turn the VR optical stabilisation off. The trail is from an airplane passing through the frame and the wiggle is a record of the camera bouncing. The effect of this can be seen in the windows of the building where the bright lights have become smeared. I only noticed the problem later in the shoot.
