Morgan taking the pottery from the kiln to the second firing (in paper and wood chips - you try to go fast, you don't want the piece to cool too much. This fire is called the reduction fire, the oxygen is used up changing the colors and also leaving patterns - you have no control over this reaction. If you want Crackle you take the piece from the kiln and let the pot cool a minute or so and the glazes crackle and the reduction fire turns these line black ( un-glazed clay turns black).

Stress reduction exercises have been linked to many health benefits, but lower blood pressure may not be one of them. A new study found eight weeks of mindfulness meditation had no effect on people with slightly elevated blood pressure who were not yet taking medication.

Three Malaysian cities -- Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Melaka -- were named Role Model Cities as part of the United Nations-led “Making Resilient Cities” campaign, which was launched during Malaysia’s National Disaster Awareness Day celebrations from 18 to 19 February.

Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Melaka were chosen for their ability to meet and inspire others around the world to take up ten essential actions that reduce disaster risk. These include: investing in and maintaining, critical infrastructure; regularly assessing the safety of schools and health facilities; and ensuring education programmes and training on disaster risk reduction; among others.

Sofia, six, sits with her little sister Suada, 24 months old, on her lap. Sofia took her sister to the Save the Children outreach center in Lagbogol, Kenya. Their mother left with their surviving livestock and Sofia is now in charge of looking after her sister.

Suada is malnourished and she, and her family, rely on the food and medicine they receive from Save the Children.

A lot of people from the area where they live have lost the livestock on which they depend for their livelihood.

This was one of them snowball effect moment I found that the inner wings had some cracks in so I took out the top front shock absorber mounts to found some more hole but in the mounts themselves

Video commissioned by the record label Cronica, for the track "118(Reduction/Reflection)” from "Three-Body Problem” album by @C.

Project URL: visiophone-lab.com/wp/?portfolio=reductionreflection

Audio-reactive graphics, rendered in real-time on Processing. A group of particles are driven by a flow-field that reacts to sound's amplitude. Along the track the particles move around the screen with unpredictable paths generated by the sound inputs on the flow-field. Different types of visualizations are explored: the particles, the flow-field, and Voronoi cells created by the particles’ positions.

Created in Processing (works on v3), captured and recorder with Syphon. Voronoi cells made with Mesh library by Lee Byron.

Processing code here: github.com/visiophone/Reduction_Reflection

Inspired by: The "Nature of Code” by Daniel Shiffman (in fact this project started over the code example “FlowField” on chapter 6); ++ The amazing recent work of Raven Know with Voronoi, Particles, and other weird moving things.

Not sure I like this one. After looking at it for over a week in its various stages, I'm sick of it. But now it's done, and I can get on with the next one!

The new frame had holes predrilled for the gyro control board meaning it was easy to mount. I used silicon hard drive grommets between the frame and the board in an attempt to reduce vibration. My feelings are the friction from the plastic screws (the whole frame is held together with plastic screws) probably still transmits the vibrations to the board. I need another solution.

The girl in the photo is clearly disturbed by something, obvious from the body language. My interpretation of reduction was not to include the cause in shot. But what was it?

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)

Refers to a method used to minimise NOx particulates in exhaust emissions. An aqueous urea solution is injected into the exhaust gas upstream of the SCR catalytic converter, resulting in the production of ammonia and carbon dioxide. In the SCR catalytic converter, the ammonia produced in this way reacts with the NOx particulates in the exhaust gas to produce water and nitrogen.

Selektive katalytische Reduktion (SCR)
