Round 1 mainpage concept 1B.
The engine has been running a little hot. It never dropped below 100C and under load was getting towards 105C (according to my gauge anyway). I've come to the conclusion that my original cooling system install wasn't quite right as it took the feed off the back of the head that would originally have gone to the heater valve straight back in the feed from the header tank. I also had a 0lbs cap on the rad and a 28-32lbs cap on the header tank. Originally I'd planned to blank off the heater valve outlet but became convinced that this may cause overheating issues at the back of the head. Having given it more thought I realised that blanking the port off is no different to driving with the heater turned off but more importantly, feeding straight back into the system at that point is recycling hot coolant back to the pump without it ever going through the radiator. With a a heater matrix in the way this would have a cooling effect on the coolant and be as good as putting it through the rad.
My original design is HERE.
I've now blanked of the back of the head and run the header tank direct to the back of the pump. I've also raised the header to its max height (only another inch) and added an 18-22lbs cap on the rad. This is due to my other concerns about firstly hot coolant always escaping back to the header and therefore reducing the flow through the rad plus the water level in the rad only getting to the top once pressure had built up.
I took the car out this evening and there was some improvement. The gauge still read 100 but it stuck there dropping to 95 off load. The fan also took a lot longer than normal to start up.
Other than also popping an even higher pressure cap on the rad to guarantee that all the water passes through unless the entire system is over pressurised, I think this is the limit of modifications I can make.
Next step is to get some louvres cut in the bonnet to let the heat escape

"No redesign da marca Daluz procurei não perder o conceito essencial da marca, que já existe há cinco anos. Minha intenção foi dar traços mais modernos e arredondados à fonte usada, tornando-a mais forte e limpa, porém, sem perder a classe. O outline chega pra iluminar, o que tem tudo a ver com a Daluz. O nome “iluminação” ganhou mais equilíbrio neste novo estudo, passando a compor o todo da marca, em uma fonte mais fina e moderna." (Bethania Braga)

Redesigning some older pin sets. They needed an update, so I worked on the packaging and cleaned up the pin designs

I love it when a plan comes together. I'm proud to say I was part of this website: www.smarthistory.org/
It launched mid-October, and already won an Unesco-award. w00t!
I was responsible for the CMS, and making sure the designer's static templates were implemented exactly as intended. The former version of the site was running on Wordpress, but for the ever-growing content and feature-set, I was recommending a modern, flexible open-source CMS that is much more than just a blogging tool.
Smarthistory has also a Flickr-Group: Head over here and participate, if you're so inclined: www.flickr.com/groups/smarthistory/
Update April 2009: Smarthistory is nominated for a Webby Award (category: education) !

The USA has gotten too big - the solution - divide it into more cohesive nations - Pacifica, Redneckistan (Heartland America), and the New American Republic.

Graphix never exactly existed on Jem, but her prototype and design exist. The graphics on her outfit are a little random, so I redesigned her outfit for fun. It's inspired by Mondrian.

While taking a break from working on the B-25 I discovered I had started a redesign of the MiG-17 and had forgotten about it. I was trying to redesign it so that the landing gear folded correctly, rather than the weird angle forced by the sloped, plate-built wings.
We'll see if the center of gravity is correct with these new wings once I order the parts to build this gal.
