There were two of these hawks showing themselves to me today. Both juvies. This one gave me some of my better flight shot of this bird! Looks like I got a UFO in this shot! :)
Aurora Sports Park, 1-5-11.
Photographed northwest of the Grand Forks airport in an area where Krider's have been seen occasionally for several years.
A Red-tailed Hawk comes sailing down the road almost at eye level, and then wheels overhead, giving me a chance to get my camera set and shooting.
This is the hawk that flew over my head. He landed in the stands behind me.
Did he see his reflection in my lens? Is he looking for that hawk now?
I was planning to visit a different location today. But after yesterdays shots of a Great Horned Owl, I thought I'd see if I could make it two in a row! No dice! The GHO I expected to find in this location didn't show! Got this raggedy Red-tailed Hawk though.
Ralston Creek Trail, 4-4-10.
This should have been my photo for Day 118 but the file was saved to a new folder on my card so I missed it. I knew I had shots that were brighter (I changed the setting on my camera to spot metering) and closer but I just didn't see them when I downloaded them from my card. Makes me wonder how many other photos I have 'lost'.
Now if I had any skills in PS I would be able to fix the blown out background but alas, I haven't looked at the dvd tutorial yet JBail. ;o) Perhaps I will find a spare minute and give it a shot. P1120132
