Liz is a young mother who is so full of life, and was a definite pleasure to photograph back in March, 2020.

The best unknown, all left-handed, air band with red shirts in the world!

This is a rare live photo of the band rehearsing some of their cover songs including:

In the Air Tonight

The Air That I Breathe

Imagine

Mysterious Ways

Invisible Touch

U Can't Touch This

You Won't See Me

and old classic The Great Pretender.

From left are imaginary guitarist Grimacing Jeffy, imaginary vocalist Jeffy Jazz Hands, imaginary drummer Stickless Jeffy and imaginary bass player Jump-Jive Jeffy.

The mobile ground tracking station confirmed a hard lock on Monday approaching.

Posing with a 10 lb. bag of Ontario potatoes in an effort to become Mr. Potato Head through potato osmosis.

I rarely buy a bag of potatoes but I plan to par cook several, cube them and then freeze them so I can make roasted potatoes (one of my favourites) through the autumn. And the bag of potatoes was one of the few deals at my local grocers- 10 lb bag for only $1.79.

Falling without trepidation... Having faith that the ground shall rise up to meet you.

He's unhappy because he's going down on the next landing party...

In support of our incredibly brave friends in Burma: May all people around the world wear red shirt on Friday 28.

A simple apostrophe changes a word from a noun or a verb to a contraction. Such are some of the peculiarities of the English language.

We're Here looks at Shell today or is that she'll?

[...simply had to try a little more demotivational LEGO humour...]

This is is an outfit that is form fitting all the way around. Me being pear shaped its hard for me to find one piece garment to do this, so i got a skirt to fit the bottom half of me and a shirt to do the same....then I added a silver belt to further emphasis my waist...making me look like I have the perfect hourglass figure.

MM-Theme One Color-My Favorite Color

may 19, 2010.

This must be one of the sadest day of my life or may be for all the thai people.

The anti-government "red shirt" protesters burn down over 30 buildings around Bangkok. The conflict still on. I have no idea when or how this going to end.

What happen to my wonderful country?

Can't we solve the problem by talking to each other like we use to?

This situation affect me so much that I decide to create some work to remind us of what happened in Thailand. But since I study abroad at the moment. I could not have taken any photo there.

So I made a collaboration with a fellow flickr user, Simon Fuller (aka fullerphoto), an english photographer who is now happen to be in Thailand.

I asked him to send me his wonderful photos, so that I can use it as a digital negative for cyanotype print. the print is then toned with very strong tea.

I'm not so sure if making this print made me feel better or not. One thing for sure, the picture is not Bangkok that I know.

this is one of my reworked version.

Wyeth’s first commission as an illustrator, for which he was paid $50.

Newell Convers Wyeth (1882-1945), who became one of America’s greatest illustrators, was the pupil of artist Howard Pyle. During his lifetime, Wyeth created more than 3,000 paintings and illustrated 112 books – 25 of them for Scribner’s, the Scribner Classics, which is the body of work for which he is best known. The first of these, “Treasure Island,” was one of his masterpieces and the proceeds paid for his studio. Wyeth was a realist painter at a time when the camera and photography began to compete with his craft. Sometimes seen as melodramatic, his illustrations were designed to be understood quickly. Wyeth, who was both a painter and an illustrator, understood the difference, and said in 1908, “Painting and illustration cannot be mixed – one cannot merge from one into the other.”

He is the father of Andrew Wyeth and the grandfather of Jamie Wyeth, both well-known American painters.

HBW!

(Check out the hands catching the bok-ay! ;D)

Monday night is Salsa Night at the outdoor dance floor on the riverbank across from our place. I shot a lot of dancers, using mostly my beloved MACRO lens, the Canon 100 mm f2.8, which people say is good for portrait work, too. It was hard, isolating the action and capturing moments. Out of about 100 shots -- in an hour or so -- I got about 4 that I like. I did a little processing on this one, using selective color to make the dancers stand out.

Hope you like it. I'll have to return to shoot again... maybe for Swing dancing night!

In other news...

The Mr. has made another post. I've told him though, that if he keeps embarrassing Benny and I, no more shout-outs! He is sweet, though... so, if you're so inclined you can check out that's entertainment!

Now that Robert Downey Jr. no longer has the choice role of Tony Stark/Iron Man, I have thrown my name out there should Marvel wish to revive the superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As you can see, while I do not have an actual suit of armour, I can be a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist along with the best of them. Plus I come with my own iron and I have mastered the standard superhero hand gesture. I'm still working on the standard superhero landing however.

And conversely, half not so mysterious.

Redshirt survival guide: Bring a yellow shirt for good luck

This visitor from the Czech Republic asked me to take a picture of her with her camera while she was sitting in Flatiron Plaza. So I did and then asked if I could take a photo of her with my camera too. Beautiful smile. I hope she had a wonderful visit.

Juan, my cousin.

I've had this picture in my drawer for a while, just sitting there, waiting and wanting to be scanned. So I finally took the time to scan it at work! I find very interesting the composition of it, plus I love how he's dressed (costume, of course), and the expression on his face.

No idea who the photographer was, and the year the photo was taken. Probably around '99, 2000.
