i dont get the strings attaching theyre fingers... but i still like this pic!!

These brush plants dot the desert and feed hungry camels.

I was fascinated by this large ant which was about 4 cm (1.5") in length. The gold banding on its abdomen just glowed aganst the red sand!

These "Maunsell Forts" were placed in the Thames Estuary in WW2 to help defend London.

Today this cluster of 7 is cared for by Project Redsand (www.project-redsand.com/).

I was thrilled to visit them, 8 miles out at sea, and to explore them with National Geographic and Visit Britain.
