A moulting adult Red-necked Phalarope was part of a large migrating flock of around 200 at Manitou Beach, Saskatchewan, Canada. 21 August 2016. This one just dipped its head in the water to get shrimps as you can see from the water droplets on the head. The birds were foraging quite close to the highway closed due to flooding, allowing a level view.
Fetlar, Shetland, Scotland, UK.
Spent a Month in the Northern Isles.
Found a lovely wee (secret) lochan in the hills of Fetlar with 3 pairs. Not a human for miles! Brilliant!
