Set a small stack of charcoal brickets on top of the stump to be burned below grade level to make mowing easier. So far it's looking promising, as it just might work.

Two exotic red breasted geese (Branta ruficollis) between a large flock of barnacle geese (Branta leucopsis). Difficult to spot and to photograph as they turned their back on us all the time.

The Summer Redneck Games have been held annually since 1996 -- the same summer Atlanta hosted the summer Olympics -- and have regularly attracted a large local, regional and international crowd. Silly competitive events include bobbing for pigs' feet and playing horseshoes with toilet seats, and all proceeds benefit local charities.
This is a sign out front of a service station in the mountains of Upstate South Carolina - the part of the state where there are people without social security numbers (and teeth). Cue the banjo.
On that note, it's not rare to walk in to one of these places and find that the beer they're selling is actually a 24-pack cut in half to make two 12-packs with busted-ass, open-top cardboard boxes. We call it redneck, they call it supply-and-demand-efficiency.
Yipee is actually spelled "yippee", not that it should really matter, it's an interjection used to express exuberant delight and triumph.....but still kinda funny.
