....cropped out image of a Red Fox through the brush, in our woods; hunting for food. Manual focus next time Steve....Geeeez lol.

First decent shot I got. I like the soft look of this photo.

I should add that this was taken with some rental equipment (EF300/2.8 + EF2x III teleconverter). This was out of the drivers seat handheld (not recommended as it weighs a fair bit). Got a burst of 3 shots and this was the best of them.

A Red Fox pup gives me a long look, then scoots off to play with its siblings.

'Parsnip' was, I think, hit by a car a while ago - she has recovered pretty well the use of her hind leg that she was dragging at first. I have worried that she injured her pelvis which could complicate breeding for her. She looks quite rotund in the photo so I'm wondering if this is an early season pregnancy.

Red Fox - Nikion D800

We had an opportunity to see two fox, one in Yellowstone and the other in the Grand Teton National Park. This one was in GTNP on Signal Mt. This is an area where there is a pond and we have seen Moose, Bear, Deer, Elk and Grouse. A great place to spend some time.

This Red Fox pup takes a short break from playing with its siblings to enjoy the warm sunshine.

Showing off his new colors and bushing out fuzzy tail :) Another shot of the fox family!

Didn't expect to see this red fox go dashing through the yard this morning. He/she disappeared into a brush pile near the house - wondering if there is a den in there.

Snack in mouth ... the fox heads into the forest for breakfast.

I was at McDonough park in vienna WV walking a wooded trail. I saw this Red Fox trotting up the path towards me. He or she hadn't seen me yet so I raised the camera up to my eye and froze. As usual I had the wrong lens on for a good zoom shot so I hoped he would get pretty close before seeing me. It happened he saw me (third photo in series) but I remained still while snapping his photo. then he trotted a short distance off the path, (photo two). Finally he jumped up onto this log to get yet another look at me, I am sure curious as to why that two legged creature does not move. (Photo one) Then he jumped down and was gone.
