One of the advantages of being in the same area as wildlife is the familiarity that exists between the wild animal and the photographer. This fox had been hanging around quite a while and my presence was not a threat to it. In this photo, it glanced up for just a moment, then laid its head back down and went back to sleep.

I'm not sure how old these little foxes are, but not old enough to know they should be afraid of people.

Watching the fox kits the other night most were tired and ready to snooze except two. They are so funny as they tumble around.

An owling day trip last month produced my first two Great Gray Owl sightings of the 2024/25 season but no decent pics of them. However, a "last minute" shoot with this wonderful fox "saved" the day.

We had a fresh snow cover when I awoke this morning. However, this was shot earlier in the winter.

A stealth pose for looking at prey with "bad intentions."

 

As an aside, that perfect straightness of back posture should be an paragon for his peers.

Using new software to bring back life to old images. Years back this fox showed up in the backyard trying to pull down the suet balls that were out for the bird. St.Albert Alberta.
