I was trying to think of something to keep my new netbook safe in my backpack, and eventually found the perfect thing: an old pair of trousers!
1) Cut off the bottom of one trouser leg
2) Turn inside out
3) Spend several hours making stupid mistakes because you haven't used a sewing machine for a decade or so
4) Sew a seam on the inside of the trouser leg
5) Turn back the right way, and admire yout new netbook case!

While I was learning to make "recycled circles" as developed by Jane LaFazio (C/P/S March 2009) I stopped short of the 4 quarters she does, making my finished product a half circle...which reminds me of outstretched arms hoping for or giving a HUG!!
Thus, I created "HUGS"

Recycled T-shirt - I made this a couple of years ago, but only just this weekend managed to finally add the buttons and brooch back. I was just stuck with what to do with them for so long! This is my current fave photo - I love that the colours complement the table it's sitting on.
Vintage lace pouch made with linen recycled from a pair of linen pants from the thrift store.
I'm assuming the lace is vintage. I bought it at a thrift store, and it looks pretty old.
