I'm also sorry that I didn't pay more attention to this. It involved cooking oil somehow which I would have liked to see. They were accepting computer donations which immediately takes hazardous materials out of the waste stream. They were routed to different projects throughout the faire including the oil-related one which was to assemble the workable donations into a supercomputer. Does anyone know how that worked out?
Paper basket made with recycled greeting cards, calendars, cereal and snack boxes, and crocheted. Reminiscent of the Christmas card baskets made in the 50's and 60's.
Just two kilometres north of my home in Beijing (prime real estate due to large IT companies and education epicentre) is strange area that looks like a poverty zone with half empty streets and buildings. The people seem to make a living out of recycling, repairs and selling of vegetables and second hand clothing. It is such an unfamiliar part of Beijing that I intend to explore further.

53 rolls of film found in a recycling bin. All expired in the early 1990's. Many varieties, but a definite bias for high ASA black and white and color film. The real find here is 5 rolls of HIE.
Cut, etched and sanded. I've taken used wine bottles and recycled them into stylish outdoor candle covers. Now the wind won't blow out the flame.

With tape on the side of the metallic paint, you're starting all over, as if depilates. Cut it into squares and then, you paint one side with acrylic or tempera color you like and you put another up, make a sandwich.

On Twitter, I've mentioned I'm cleaning out files. This is what the recycling piles looked like before I started today's cleaning. And I'm still not done. A lot of it is now digitized, so I don't need the paper copies. And a lot is just not as relevant to my life anymore. Out with the old and in with the new!

with one exception.
I recently learned that just having the circular recycling symbol on packaging only means that this was made within EU guidelines for using recycled materials. It doesn't mean the packaging is then itself recyclable! Now i have another thing to add to my list of musts for toiletries, as well as not tested on animals.

From left to right you can deposit paper, glass or cans and bottles for recycling.
On the far right you can deposit anything that isn't recyclable.

Nativity stained glass window by A J Davies of Bromsgrove , given in memory of Colin and Mary Helen MacIver by their children in 1931 .
(Mary was the daughter of Peter & Isabella Stubs of Blaisdon Hall - she and Colin repaired the tower, recast the bells and added the tower clock in their memory in 1912. Her sister Isabella Waters added the chancel east window in 1905 )
They probably took inspiration from the 1923 east window at nearby Aston Ingham flic.kr/p/2jEkf4y also by A J Davies , itself recycled quite a few times - Church of St Michael & All Angels, Blaisdon, Gloucestershire
