So, how do people at Rubbermaid recycle? I was curious, so I asked around.
At my house, we used to put all the empty recycling items on the edge of the island as we were finished with them. I became frustrated with the recycling clutter that continually gathered on the island in our kitchen. It would sometimes sit there for days at a time before we took it out to the garage where our recycling bins are. Recently, we put a small trash bin under our sink for all recyclables.

Our basement renovation is done, and we're unpacking things and putting them back downstairs.
Our township only has recycling once every other week, so we have a lot to go out tomorrow....
24 March 2013, in Kemble Road, Tottenham. A man with what looked like a child's pushchair was poking in the pile of dumped rubbish. He didn't seem to find anything he wanted and walked away a few seconds later.

§ On 18 August 2013 The Guardian has a short article by Hugh Muir: What migrants do to survive. He suggested that "some take the jobs we won't do". Adding: "... a good few will have subterranean wheezes going on. The rest of us won't even know it". Hugh Muir points out that many "wheezes" which migrants use to survive can be creative; and involve self-help and mutual aid among members of new communities.
One practice people do know about is urban waste scavenging. From time to time, Harringay Online one of our local community websites has a new discussion thread where members voice an old topic: their discomfort and irritation when other people hunt though waste bins in front gardens for items of value.
These owls are on recycled toilet roll holders. Using the cardboard centres of toilet rolls, covered with pages from an old dictionary left to dry and then painted.
Lots of little plastic things: plastic bottle tops, lids, spent insulin pens, needle caps, plastic strapping, any bits and piece I find while on a walk. When full, I send then to be recycled. This something like the eight one this year.
Walls of empty bottles were seen in a number of places. I can only guess that they were being saved to be recycled sometime in the future

So I had a couple of things laying around the workshop I wanted to repurpose/recycle. I started with X8 old 10inch narrow rims and 1x old BMX rim. I got to work and had the inspiration to build side tables from the mini rims and 2x bike racks from 1x BMX rim. The bike racks consisted of cutting the BMX rim into quarters, I then made a custom oak frame with bamboo Centre to support the rim in such a way that I would add the rightful brackets to hang a bicycle from it, I added some brass detailing to support and lock everything in place, it all makes sense when you see the image.
As for the side tables, I started by throwing all 8 rims in a powder coating oven to burn all the old paint off, I then started fabricating steel hairpin style legs that I would then weld to the inside of the rim with appropriate reinforcements where necessary, got some tops cut and toughened in 6mm glass that I then made small brackets that are well to the rims to give the glass top a place to sit above the rim in a floating style. 4 of the side table I kept with a patina finish and just clear coated the other 4 were powder coated black for a sharper more modern finish. Hope you can appreciate my creations.
I had a small jar to toss in to the recycle bin - I just thought it would be a waste to recycle it empty,

Is this a Lodal or something? I've never seen stuff like this before.
**UPDATE: this is a Lodal ECO. Thanks Georgewuzheer*
Was impressed by Bloc 11 Cafe's commitment to recycling (9 bins), but don't know if there is a way restaurants can reduce consumption of materials that need to be discarded as trash or recycling.

I like getting my news from a wide variety of sources, including a pair of local newspapers.
Seeing how many ways a controversial story is "spun" (or omitted altogether) depending on the slant of the source is half the fun.
However, I don't enjoy the stack that builds up on a spare chair in the kitchen until someone finally hauls it out to the recycle bin.
Of course, there's only couple a dozen pages or so of REAL news per paper. The rest of the pages are ads, ads, and more ads.

Our latest collection of jewelry is oriented on artistic recycling. This is a relatively new form of contemporary art, using recycled materials or objects in our creations rather than raw materials.
Recycled Art often a way to think of our consumption modes and offer greener and thoughtful products. So, the principle is to reuse materials through recycling, recovery and reclamation, to give them a new life.
Below: Jewelry from recycled aluminum, very light. The accessories are stainless steel and the rings are silver 925. Each piece is assembled and shaped by hand. Realization is doen in our workshop in Noumea in New Caledonia.

I'm a self-taught mixed media collage artist who uses primarily recycled paper in her creations. It's difficult to find a gallery that will show my work because somehow recycled art is considered, um, less accomplished. So I decided to find places online that will show my art instead!
I don't draw my designs first, I pick up my scissors and start cutting. This is my favorite thing in the whole world to do!
