The San Antonio Recruiting Battalion debuted the Family Information & Fun Fair at its Annual Training Conference Dec. 8 at the El Tropicano Hotel. The event’s mission was to provide spouses with information and resources from 14 military and community organizations. Free toys and books were provided to battalion children through the Joint Base San Antonio School Liaison Office. The battalion thanks the following organizations for their support:
Blue Star Families, JBSA School Liaison Office, Transition Assistance Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Children’s Shelter, Military 1 Source, Exceptional Family Members Program, United Way, Employment Readiness, Army Family Action Plan, Financial Readiness, Family Endeavors, Family Service Association, VOICES for Children and First Command.

The Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion hosts a Media Roundtable on several U.S. Army Recruiting topics Aug. 30 at the Harrisburg Opportunity Center in Harrisburg, PA. Topics included Pinnacle recruiting, year-end recruiting numbers, unemployment and its effect on local recruiting, benefits and opportunities through the Army and Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). Panel members (right) were the ROTC Blue Mountain Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Peter Lugar, who is also the professor of military science at the Dickinson College, the Harrisburg Recruiting Company Commander Capt. Eric Sutton, the Harrisburg Recruiting Company 1st Sgt. Nathan Billips and the Harrisburg Opportunity Center Assistant Commander Staff Sgt. James Slough. Future Soldiers were also on hand to give their personal views on why they joined the Army (left) Michael Nieves, Ryan Blong and James Riley.
