Time in art can be actual time or implied time.
The theme of time has often been in which painting from the different ages of man, many paintings are devoted.
"The chronological representation of time through devices is just one part of a broader and more dynamic notion of time whose effects are felt at a biological level, but also in the evolution of societies, in the succession of events that marks the history of nations and the world.
But time has also always had a mystical symbolism as in the line of life, between the moment of birth and the moment of the end and therefore of death. Throughout the life of societies, time is marked by its destiny and by the temporal moments that mark the great personal and universal tragedies or the great deeds and transformations.
Time thus has, from the beginning, a mundane but at the same time universal and divine dimension. "

After the disappearance of Captain America in World War 2, the US and Germany raced to recreate the Super Soldier Serum that had turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. None of the attempts equaled the original but one formula did give American citizen Isaiah Bradley superhuman abilities.
Isaiah served in action briefly wearing a similarly patriotic uniform but the faulty serum caused him brain damage, and his career was cut short.
Eli Bradley is the grandson of Isaiah Bradley.
When Iron Lad began his search for the next generation of Avengers, he came to the Bradley household in search of Isaiah's son, Josiah. However, Josiah had been missing for several months, and Iron Lad met Eli instead. Eli claimed to have gained superpowers through an emergency blood transfusion from his grandfather, but this was untrue.
He later gained his powers artificially with Mutant Growth Hormone (MGH), an illegal street drug that causes brief periods of superhuman abilities. MGH has been demonstrated to promote irritability in individuals.
Patriot became a founding member of the Young Avengers. The public believed his costume resembled that of Captain America's 1940s sidekick, Bucky, but he revealed that his costume is a redesign of his grandfather's.
He has an adversarial relationship with teammate Hawkeye, who nonetheless gave him Captain America's original star-spangled triangular shield.
When the truth about Eli's lack of superpowers was revealed, Eli quit the team. He returned after the Hulkling was kidnapped by the Super-Skrull, and the other Young Avengers convinced him that he was the only one of them capable of leading the team, even without his powers.
Patriot was later gravely wounded by a Kree warrior when he jumped in front of a blast meant for Captain America, and received a blood transfusion from his grandfather, Isaiah, which granted him the abilities afforded by the Super-Soldier Serum.
Eli joins Captain America's Secret Avengers during the "Civil War" saga.
Patriot leads his team to assist the Runaways after they were attacked by the government. The Young Avengers and the Runaways worked together when two of their members were captured, and the Runaways decided to stay out of the mix in the war. Patriot managed to keep most of his team together, but Stature decided to join Iron Man's side.
Eli later seeks out the Winter Soldier, whom he had earlier met during the "Civil War" event, to discuss the nature of patriotism at a time when he disagrees with the Superhero Registration Act, and much of the way America is being governed. The two have a heartfelt chat about America as an idea and about the original Patriot, Jeffrey Mace.
During the 2008 "Secret Invasion" storyline, Eli and the other Young Avengers are the first team to respond to the Skrull invasion of Manhattan.
Despite their valiant efforts, and the aid of the Initiative cadets, they are all defeated. However, they are saved by the timely arrival of Nick Fury and the Secret Warriors, and help Earth's heroes defeat the Skrull invaders.
During the "Dark Reign" evemt, Eli is outraged when Norman Osborn formed his "official" team of Avengers and even more so when he announces a new team of Young Avengers.
Eli's Young Avengers confront the latter and demand that they either join the first team of Young Avengers, or find another name for themselves. Near the end of the issue, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) admits her love for Eli after he breaks his hand, to which he responds 'I may break my hand everyday', making their relationship clear after a few months of dating.

Georgia Totto O'Keeffe (November 15, 1887 – March 6, 1986) was an American artist.
She was known specially for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers and New Mexico landscapes. O'Keeffe has been recognized as the "Mother of American Modernism".
Georgia produced a lot of abstract art, including close-up on flowers, paintings that many saw as reproductions of the female genitalia.
The galleries of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum honor the artist’s achievements and her continuing legacy. Her story is presented in nine galleries tracing a journey that spans the twentieth century and the rise of American Modernism.

In recreating the experience of Italy on the Las Vegas Strip, the Venentian offers gondola rides. The half-mile ride indoor gondolas make their way through the Grand Canal Shoppes, beneath the ceiling emulating blue sky bridges and the quaint shops and cafés that line the canal. Outdoor gondolas (shown here) glide along a 31,000 square-foot lagoon located at the front of the Venetian resort on the world-famous Strip with the sun overhead and sparkling water below.
About the Venetian: On November 26, 1996, eight years after it was bought by Sheldon Adelson, the Sands Hotel was imploded to make way for The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. Ground was broken April 14, 1997 and the resort opened on May 3, 1999 at an estimated cost of $1.5 billion, it was one of the most expensive resorts of its kind. The Venetian (along with the adjacent Sands Expo Convention Center and The Palazzo Hotel and Casino Resort) is part of the largest five-diamond hotel and resort complex in the world with 4,049 suites.
The original source of Adelson's wealth was the computer trade show COMDEX, which he and his partners developed for the computer industry; the first show was in 1979. It was the premier computer trade show through much of the 1980s and 1990s. Adelson has indicated that the inspiration for the mega resort Venetian came in 1991 during his honeymoon in Venice with his second wife.

Recreating Frida Kahlo Challenge - April / May 2021

Recreating Frida Kahlo (1907 - 1954) Challenge - April / May 2021 - LINK HERE
Frida Kahlo de Rivera born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón (1907 -1954) was a Mexican artist who painted many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico.
Inspired by the country's popular culture, she employed a naïve folk art style to explore questions of identity, postcolonialism, gender, class, and race in Mexican society.
Her paintings often had strong autobiographical elements and mixed realism with surrealism and mystic fantasy.
A severe bus accident in 1925 left Kahlo in lifelong pain after an spin injury. The bumper of one of the vehicles punctured his back, causing a pelvic fracture and hemorrhage. Frida spent many months between life and death in the hospital, she had to be operated several times.
Confined to bed for three months following the accident, Kahlo began to paint. She started to consider a career as a medical illustrator, as well, which would combine her interests in science and art. Painting became a way for Kahlo to explore questions of identity and existence.
Frida Kahlo typically uses the visual symbolism of physical pain in a long-standing attempt to better understand emotional suffering. Before Kahlo's efforts, the language of loss, death, and selfhood, had been relatively well investigated by some male artists (including Albrecht Dürer, Francisco Goya, and Edvard Munch), but had not yet been significantly dissected by a woman.
Even as Kahlo was gaining recognition in Mexico, her health was declining rapidly, and an attempted surgery to support her spine failed.
Her paintings from this period include Broken Column (1944), Without Hope (1945), Tree of Hope, Stand Fast (1946), and The Wounded Deer (1946), reflecting her poor physical state.
She died in 1954, however she carried out several works, including the still-life "Viva La Vida"(1954).
The same passions that helped Frida Kahlo become a great artist are reflected in her many love affairs. These took place despite her being married (twice) to fellow artist Diego Rivera. Over the course of her life, multiple famous men and women became her romantic partners.
Kahlo's work as an artist remained relatively unknown until the late 1970s, when his work was rediscovered by art historians and political activists. In the early 1990s, she became not only a recognized figure in art history, but also considered an icon for Chicanos, the feminist movement and the LGBT movement.
So we also propose for this month of April/May to recreate works of this incredible Mexican Painter and /or using portraits and elements from yours or stock images to recreate her creative self portraits !
Admittedly a rather feeble recreation due to budgetary considerations. Rather than the act of slaying a dragon, it's more of a grimace-off and the orange beast seems to be winning.
