Dozens of volunteers and staff braved heavy rains a couple of weeks ago to reach out to students who left school before graduating as part of the Reconnect to Your Future campaign.
This year nearly 40 volunteers – including board member Pam Knowles and former board member Bobbie Regan -- knocked on the doors of nearly 180 students in an effort to encourage them to return to school. It is also a way for the district to gather more accurate enrollment data.
Since the program began, Reconnect Services has reached out to more than 5-thousand students and almost 60 percent have re-enrolled.
This is the sixth year the Reconnection Services department has organized Reconnect to your future.
