Good morning/evening my friends!
Nice to be back after 2 weeks..
During these days i visited lots of places in inner Greece but i wasnt so lucky about the weather..Most of my pics are taken with my new Tamron 18-270 VC ..a very good all in one traveller lens and i highly recommended it especially if you dont want to change lenses all the time..
I ll try to visit your work to see what i missed from all of you!!

India
During my trip to India I got chance to visit few places for birding. With my friend Anupam Dash I visited Bhitarkanika (Only place in India where you can find all seven species of kingfishers) Mangroves for kingfishers and Manglajodi wetland for mostly waders and waterfowls. Both these locations are vast and home ground for Anupam. He has been working at thease both locations from decades. He has trained his team member as boat operators and they work with him seamlessly to put the boat at right place and angle to get perfect position for shot as he directs. He is amazing to know the active spots in that vast area at particular time and season. His team takes very little time to reach to place where action is going on considering huge area to cover. Although I was little late in season, he was able to find good number of species for me. If you are visiting any place in India or those places for bird photography, I highly recommend joining Anupam. A big thanks my friend. Here is Bluethroat we photographed at Manglajodi.

I believe this is a parent to two young adults that now have their white feathers. This one was watching two others as they sat on lower limbs of trees. I watched him soar over the mouth of a lake while driving home through Bristol Mills. Wonderful way to end the day:)

Not recommended but I treated this like a special forces miltary op with flashers on the Theiway Castleton Spur Bridge and timing dialed in just right for this shot. Focal length and everything all set. Rare to get just a crisp morning in July and the MACs looked glorious as they crossed the Hudson. 1997 was a great year to shoot the action on the Boston Line for the best of old and new power and plenty of daylight freight activity to boot.

Recommend viewing large to take in all the rocks, small rocks in the foreground and the stars. The full size JPEG out of Lightroom is nearly 59MB.
When I first started taking pictures in Second Life, some 8 years ago, the sims I started with were of the Calas Galadhon group of sims. As beautiful as they are relaxing, I had to return to take another shot.
Since 2008, they have been delivering an enchanting entertainment experience. For those that have never experienced their sims, I highly recommend them. I have always enjoyed them and thank Ty and Truck and their entire team for everything they do to bring them to us.

Nikon F5, Nikkor 24mm f2.8, FPP Low ISO Color Negative (Eastman 2254).
Interesting color negative film. I have had two rolls of this stuff for some time and decided last weekend to give it a try. It is very slow - so a tripod is a must - they recommend an ISO of 1.6. My F5 only goes down to ISO 6, so I just shot at ISO 6 with two stops of exposure compensation. Seems to have worked okay.
This film has a definite color cast. It seems to lean very much toward the blue and magenta, so it does require quite a bit of fidgeting with the colors in post to get it tamed down. The film base is a pale pink purple, which I think is one of the reasons for the difficulty. I am reasonably happy with the colors of this one - and although they are not accurate, this has the feeling of the colors I remember from the day. Just read the fine print on the negative border - this one is Eastman 2254.
This was a one-room cabin next to the house that was built after this one was abandoned. Often on the prairie, this is the case - the original family outgrows the old place and builds a new one right next to the old one, which then just gradually decays away.
This one had three old toilets inside, strewn about. Just outside of the door was the old Steelcase-style 'tanker' desk chair. Will definitely be going back to this one.

I recommend Harlot's Harvest by Pike Street Brewery if you like the pumpkin ale. This fellow however towers over the fence at Twin Sisters Brewery, Bellingham, Wa. I stumbled upon him, (no, not literally!) while on vacation. I wanted to show Darling Tonia and some friends Picture Lake, but no joy, rain prevailed. However, as it turns out Bellingham is home to 13 breweries so we stayed an extra night..... :-)

From the Lumpini series.. more HDR Lumpini night experimentation taken Aug 1st.. I was playing with various settings to better grasp & understand my D300 ..:-) I pushed it to the limit with super long exposures.. using my wireless remote that worked flawlessly.. Had lots of fun fun in the process :-)

Suite dans la serie du Parck Lumpini.. Je me suis amuse avec les reglages du D300. afin de mieux cerner et comprendre la bete.... Un HDR/LSD experiemntal de 3 cliches. tres long en expo quasi maximale en digital.. j'ai utilise mon declencheur sans fil qui a fonctionne comme prevu pour une fois.. .. lol. :-)
