ERIE, Pa. – Maj. Gen. Mark Schindler, Pennsylvania’s adjutant general and head of the PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), CSM Shawn Phillips and DMVA Executive Deputy Secretary Marc Ferraro presided over DMVA’s Annual Recognition Awards Ceremony held at the Pennsylvania Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Home in Erie, Sept. 19. This year’s recipient of the TAG Award is Emily Heubel, administrative officer at PSSH. Since Heubel’s arrival at PSSH, she has exceeded expectations through her leadership and perseverance. Heubel was able to bring PSSH to its full capacity through her tenacious admissions efforts, allowing DMVA to care for the maximum number of staff at the facility. The 2024 DMVA Employee of the Year is Elizabeth Sul-Celline, facility reimbursement manager. Sul-Celline is honored for her exemplary job performance and dedication to helping the veterans homes operate optimally. The DMVA employs more than 2,500 civilian personnel in communities statewide.
