A birthday was recently celebrated, and a Canon EOS 60D and carrying case acquired to mark the occasion (from Glazer's: buy local!)

Here the birthday boy is training the new camera to photograph stones yesterday, on the first day of spring-like weather. A few stones were left unphotographed, so this is a likely site for future image-making outings.

The camera and bag are widely available. The photographer, being a treasured family heirloom, is priceless and NFS.

At last we know who has been responsible for minifigures being glued to magnets in recent years!

Trying out the new road plates as the photo base... Seems like it is same height with the pavement. Will be trying out model board to raise it for the next time...

Some of you are familiar with my recent forays into the area of post-processing. Some of you are also aware of my miserable failure in attempts to get decent bird shots, though constantly surrounded by our avian friends. Those two factors collided yesterday as you can see. I wonder how many are familiar with the old phrase, "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear"...one particularly appropriate to this series which reflects an honest attempt to do exactly that.

The bird is a pileated woodpecker, a spectacular 20" creature, unmistakable not only in its size but in the volume of its call and its "pecking," which echoes throughout the forest. Happily, in addition to every other woodpecker, it is relatively common here which has allowed for frequent photo ops all of which ended in typical failure, yesterday being no exception as this fellow casually made his rounds of the trees next to the lake. But this time I decided to play around a bit instead of pounding the delete button.

While not destined for the next field guide, I must admit I actually like the "arty" results and continue to be amazed at what can be created. I think I might utilize this "style" for all my bird images...that is if I retained any clue as to how it was accomplished.

Nice find that my first one was so fresh. They loose the green colouring very quickly.

Twirling my dress and petticoats - and just revelling in feeling ultra-feminine - during a recent photo-shoot. This is another sight of the dress I was planning to wear for Ladies Day at Royal Ascot this year....

We are still in lockdown here at Lyndon Towers, with my hubby being kept out of mischief chiefly by being put to work on the latest issues of "Streetwalker" and "Snooty Bra-Busters" magazines. I have been re-reading "Finnegans Wake" and watching 1940s movies to pass the time - as well as sharing the boudoir couch with my very butch housekeeper, Mrs Danvers. I almost wish my former lover Seth Melling was still around - the handsome young man who used to be my hubby's gamekeeper. Seth lived in a little cottage at the edge of our state, which made our regular afternoon rendezvous very easy and convenient for me…!

Check out the rare Volkswagen Vanagon. It's in excellent condition and was a fresh fall-off. The Saturn Ion is also the nicest one I've found of that type, with all four lugs caps intact and no curb scrapes.

I'm trying to find the time to post the photos for my two story lines. So far, I haven't found it. One was before vacation, & the other is from the camping trip. I'm hoping by the weekend I will find some time!!!

In the meantime, I've put together a quick collage:

Left: My hubby gave me a butler for our Anniversary!! His name is Ollie, after my late Dad's cat!!

Upper right: Me & my husband at the Renaissance Faire He got TONS of Attention!! Everyone wanted their picture taken with him! Even a teenage boy had his Mom take his picture with 'Gandalf'!! Kids couldn't take their eyes off of him. Even the Faire comedian made him part of his act! It was a Blast!!!!!

Lower right: I threw this picture in just to show this guys size! He makes me look like a waif and I'm not!! I'm 5'1", but this guy from the Jousting Tournament was HUGE!!!!!

I haven't got an option (due to 1000 photos limit) to post on Flickr last month so I will put few memories with a slice delay. Just to keep them here for my future nostalgia.

I had few nice mornings in January, where I could do a short walk with a camera.

A recent shot from Embleton Bay which is just next to Dunstaburgh Castle (or what's left of it!). It was a cracking evening, if a bit windy, but by sunset all the cloud had gone so was a bit muted.
