I have not great skills in Photoshop, but just for fun I tried to make a card for Halloween.
I hope you have a great time on this eccentric day. Unfortunately Halloween is not part of our culture, but I admit that in recent years Brazilians are trying to introduce, unofficially, this celebration in our calendar :)

Eurasian pygmy owl, Glaucidium passerinum, varpuspöllö, Finland.
Not much birding activity lately but one recent highlight was this pygmy owl which I photographed from car window on a very dull day.

Of the three recent misty shots I took, I like this one the most. Mainly because I had to "work" for it a little more. The first two were taken down by the sea when I saw this scene developing across the bay. Sadly some trees were blocking my view of the line of misty trees so had to walk/trott back up the hill to my home and then find another view point. Wasn't too sure the mist would stay for the 5 minutes I was half-jogging. Lucky for me it did. This shot was taken about one hour after sunset. Living in the north at this time of year it doesn't really get dark after sunset. Though I am glad I don't live further north with the sun being up 24 hours a day. Think I'd go nuts with that lol!
The other reason I like this shot is that jetty features in one of my all-time favourite shots, though from a completely different angle, seen below in the first comment.
During a recent brief visit to Hong Kong we walked past the Hong Kong Museum of Art. An interesting building, currently under renovation, but I was attracted by its exterior and the strong contrast with the early morning sun peeping through. An unexpected moment.
Another from the recent set at Clevedon Pill.....high tide and sunset....

To spend the morning in the rainy woods and the afternoon editing photos in a cozy study... a perfect fall day.
A friend was promoted last year and received a "new" office, filled with stuff left behind by a now retired professor. This Hermes 3000 typewriter was left in that office and needed a new home, so after a stopover for a cleaning and mechanical overhaul, it now lives with me. It was made in 1964, in Switzerland.

Recent images of mine were processed in the field with an iPhone or iPad. Although these apps do not replace Lightroom or PS for power, it does give me the ability to create or refine my imagery on the move. Works for me.

Inspired by Blade Runner's photography I wanted to try some creative color grading. After many and many attempts I'm finally satisfied by this recent pictures of mine, taken in a foggy night from the park around Sloterplas, looking at Osdorp neighbourhood, framed by the still water and flat sky.
I have passed this vacant house quite a few times and have stopped before for photos of it. This is the most recent.
Yeehaw, raptors! This falcon is a recent settler at my local regional park. The resident crows, however, were just merciless this early morning. They started hanging in the same leafless tree; one got just one branch above the Peregrine even. I guess they don't know a Peregrine can take a crow (saw it, photographed it earlier this year). The raptor endured for awhile, but flew about 10 minutes later. Then the crows moved on to hassle a red-shouldered hawk - one chased it even. And, by the way, don't you just love its "pantalones" as my BF would say? Cool stuff.
The two Irizar workings were replaced by buses SEe16/17 that were cascaded from withdrawn routes 507/521. SEe16 (LJ66CFP) working on route 108 towards Stratford International.
Been a minute since I’ve shared on here. I’ve been busy workin on the railroad and don’t have a big slot to photograph anymore.
My second offering from the recent winter storm here in the Pacific Northwest. It was pretty magical along Gorton Creek that day. It was dumping heavily, adding to the roughly 16 inches of snow on the ground. Large veils of snow were unleashed from the trees, periodically raining down creating this fantastic atmosphere. A bit of fog even worked its way up the creek. After experiencing all of those atmospherics I knew processing this image with a high key feel would work perfectly. Pretty happy with the results.

Shown here: Cattle Egrets and a Snowy Egret.
Egrets and herons nesting at water level in this freshwater pond in Taylor, Texas leaves nests and birds vulnerable to devastating losses during flooding. I've only observed drought conditions here in recent years and will have to research flooding in the area in the past. However, as a fairly new rookery (4 or 5 years old or so, I believe), I've not seen any prior flooding of the rookery).
This shot was taken 13 days before the severe Memorial Day 2015 flooding which inundated a significant proportion of the nests at this nuisance rookery in Central Texas .
