Le due torrette in primo piano all’inizio della scalinata del ponte dei Trepponti a Comacchio (Ferrara) sembrano come richiamare i due campanili in lontananza appartenenti al settecentesco Ospedale degli Infermi.

The two small towers in the foreground at the beginning of the steps of the Trepponti bridge in Comacchio (Ferrara) seem to recall the two bell towers in the distance belonging to the eighteenth century “Ospedale degli Infermi”.

yes he does and at a good pace too! Kind of an abstract scene taken from the top of the dunes.

I RECALL when USA postage stamps had their cost on each stamp. That has been replaced by "FOREVER".

Thank you for taking the time to view my photo, and for the faves and comments you make, thank you.

This enthusiastic big softie is a Tibetan Mastiff called Legend. He’s usually on his lead as he’s so big, though this field is rented so he can let off some steam.

Macro Mondays PSA on Lead Poisoning. Every year toys are recalled because they contain lead paint. www.cpsc.gov/Safety-Education/Toy-Recall-Statistics

Pictured is a Fisher Price "Little People". While this does not contain lead paint, older models do. About 10 years ago, Mattel/Fisher Price recalled 19 Million toys due to high levels of lead paint. If you have saved your children's old toys and your grandchildren are now playing with them, you may want to check to see if they have been recalled. The following link is a great place to check for recalled toys.

These 3 1/2" computer disks are sitting on the 3 1/2" disk reader drive I borrowed from a friend to retrieve files from the disks. My friend said he didn't need the reader drive anymore. We've all gone to memory sticks now. We've come along ways baby.

I do not miss childhood, but I miss the way I took pleasure in small things, even as greater things crumbled. I could not control the world I was in, could not walk away from things or people or moments that hurt, but I took joy in the things that made me happy...

Kodak picture discs (Floppy discs) from the 1990's

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊

i recall getting a good laugh when someone once asked me what i was doing and i candidly replied that i was playing with my chinese balls, which i fondly call these chinese medicine balls. i bought my baoding balls in 2001 when we visited shenzen, china. they are used by rotating two or more balls repeatedly in the hand which is supposed to improve finger dexterity, relax the hand and energy circulation of the body through the yin and yang melody caused by bells within the balls

If you've been reading my descriptions, you might recall that I've recently been introduced to Ps Lab mode, which can create contrast between hues while leaving luminosity alone.

I've also discovered that if I make in Ps, a layer into a smart object, I can click on it, and it opens up as if it were an entirely different document! Whatever changes I make on it, when closed and saved, are then transmitted to that smart layer back in my original photo.

This way I don't have to create separate photo files!

With this one, I got so carried away, creating merged up smart layers, doing things in Lab mode, then bring back to the original, that Ps wouldn't save my image any longer!

I had exceeded Photoshop's file size limit!

I had three smart layers that had edits in Lab mode, then masking to reveal only certain parts.

I had dodge and burn layers painted on through luminosity masks.

I had curve adjustment layers.

Even the layer groups were grouped into groups.

So I had to flatten the image, then save as with a different name in order to keep going.

That image is in the first comment box below.

But of course, I felt that for sliders sunday, I had to bring it to the point at which I could no longer look myself in the mirror.

And indeed, when I look at the image above, I cringe.

And smile a bit too...

Happy Sliders Sunday!

I well recall how LT struggled with availability of rear engine buses during 1979. Scenes like this in Hanwell Garage on 1 March 1979 were replicated in garages across the fleet with many DMS`s being long term casualties before being put back into service such as these: DMS 1955, 1944 and DM 1197.

RMA 12 became a Staff Bus having previously been one of those used in passenger service on the 175`s a couple of years before. It still carries the NS garage code from that time and has - as a non-original airport Routemaster feature - the route number box under the front canopy fitted in the absence of `proper` front destination boxes.

For all the obvious reasons this will belong to a series of self-portraits named "Nidus". I want to be able to froze small pieces of my memories in this place I called home for as long as I remember, even before we called it our own. It's odd to be leaving, and sad at times. So I just want to have a reminder of a lot of those details for anytime I'll want to be back at it to be able to do so.

I cannot recall any other time when I have been out shooting that I was able to capture moonset and sunrise at the exact same moment. The moon and sun were 180 degrees apart. Moon in front of me and sun behind me. Moon just going below the horizon and sun just coming up. Too cool. This is a first of a series. I drove up this dirt road as far as I could. It is deeply rutted right now and I could not get any higher. I don't have a 4X4 until next month or so, but managed to get high enough to get the valley fog from effecting the shots. 14F and a clearer morning than usual lately. I chose this spot in hopes the moon would interesect will with the tree breaking the line of the hill. Best viewed large I think.
