For some reason this photo reminds me of a certain friend I knew in high school who wore a single line of risque brown eyeliner desparately trying to mask the goofball he is!!!
I was going to post the Fusion pictures in order of the bands playing , but I knew I had some great shots of the extremely camera-friendly Annicke Shireen on vocals and keys with Pure Reason Revolution, who closed the show, so treated myself by processing these first. Boy was this some performance! Check out the head-banging shots in this set. It was high-energy stuff from a band on top form. The full line up is band leader Jon Courtney – vocals, guitars, keyboards;
Greg Jong – vocals, guitars; Annicke Shireen – vocals & synths with
Ravi Kesavaram on drums.
For various reasons these photos have languished in digital obscurity for the last 8 years.
One of those reasons is an underpowered laptop - now resolved.
Another is that I don't think the X-Pro1 ever quite made the sort of images I hoped it would - it's now long-gone, and I don't miss it.
Anyway, after a quick sift and edit, here are some snapshots from the year in which we bought our house and started getting to grips with it - and more importantly, the garden.

Carrots are orange for entirely political reasons: in the 17th century, Dutch growers are thought to have cultivated orange carrots as a tribute to William of Orange – who led the the struggle for Dutch independence – and the color stuck. A thousand years of yellow, white and purple carrot history, was wiped out in a generation.
Although some scholars doubt if orange carrots even existed prior to the 16th century, they now form the basis of most commercial cultivators around the world. Presumably crosses between Eastern (purple), Western (white, red) and perhaps wild carrots led to the formation of the orange rooted carrot sub species. Turkey is often cited as the original birthplace of the hybrids (or mutations) of the two groups.
Whatever the origins, the Long Orange Dutch carrot, first described in writing in 1721, is the forebear of the orange Horn carrot varieties so abundant nowadays. The Horn Carrot derives from the Netherlands town of Hoorn in the neighborhood of which it was presumably bred. All our modern, western carrots ultimately descend from these varieties.
What a triumphant return of the mighty Toxic Reasons at this years Rebellion Festival. The addition of guitraist Vess Ruthenberg (of Zero Boys fame) made their sound even more powerful. An all killer no filler set, however i did miss some Hits: (How could one not with so many great albums under their belt)...
In Texas I grew up and most times you are either a city boy or a country boy but I feel like I was a mix of both. 75% city boy but I also had that 25% country in me deep down. Fishing just like golf is something I find really relaxing and peaceful to do when I have some free time. Coming up to Utah there are many spots where you can fish but also enjoy the scenery of Utah so thats what made it all so much better fishing here rather than Texas so much more appealing. Due to this fact thats why it dropped it around reason number six as its not something I do too often but I love to do it. Its not something that is done consistently but it helps physically and emotionally relax.
