Female merganser in Idaho Fish and Game Nature Center Pond. Actually, I don't like this picture, because the composition is not good, but I like the duck. Here's a piece of iinformation: The Cadillac automobile was named after Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadiilac, who founded the settlement of Detroit, and the car's marque reflected the sieur de Cadillac's coat of arms. From the time the automobile was created, it's "marque" had included six ducks which were mergansers. A couple of years ago General Motors took the mergansers off the Cadillac marque because, as the company said in its press releases, a "cleaner" logo would make the car more marketable. I went with my friend Marie, an avid birder, to the Colusa Nat'l Wildlife Refuge near Colusa in Northern California.
We were staying at Lake Minden NACO/Thousand Trails north of Sacramento, California. (11-12-29-5679)
Driving home from practice and this looked really pretty in my rearview mirrors.
I've gotta stop taking pics while I drive. HA!
At the beginning of 2025, I became the stage manager for my bestie. For her directiorial debut, she chose the Vagina Monologues. I loved it! I'm not a theater person so it was all new to me. I love plays but I've never been behind the scenes.
The page on the left contains words from the play, words that women use to refer to their "private parts." One scene was performed brilliantly by Lexi exploring the word cunt. I always viewed it as an insult, no more! After shouting it out loud for nights, it has a whole new meaning.
The page on the right is remembring all the beautiful places we visited, all the amazing flowers and birds in British Columbia, Oregon, Utah, Montana, New Mexico and Georgia.
I know it's hazardous, but being a Prairie girl, I couldn't resist this shot that shows the mountains ahead and behind us as we left Banff.
My brother has this old charger in the back of his yard. It is his little fixer-uper project. I had a lot of fun shooting it this weekend!
