It's so easy to ignore your rearview mirror when taking sunset shots. This was a rearview mirror shot just before the last one I posted. spoilt for choice really. It's not quite as dramatic, but still has a certain beauty as golden light swathes Witches Point. Rearview is by Damien Jurado.
1930's Customized Dodge PU and following closely in his rearview mirror.........a 30's custom chopped Ford
**Nothing dirty about these sparkling to perfection 1930 vehicles.
Captured driving between Portland and Seattle. ( I was not the driver.)
Edited for Sliders Sunday using Snapseed and Deep Dream Generator. HSS everyone!
Just a few small patches of snow left in the front yard. While I enjoy the beauty of winter, I'm always happy to see it done. Took this during a snow fall on the drive home.
It ain't nothin' but a rearview town
Broken hearts and rusted plows
Roots ripped right up out of the ground
Never thought I'd ever leave it
It ain't nothin' what it used to be
Population minus me
On the other side of that dust cloud
Ain't nothin' but a rearview town....

I took a drive today, time to emancipate
I guess it was the beatings made me wise
But I'm not about to give thanks or apologize
I couldn't breathe, holdin' me down
Hand on my face, pushed to the ground
Enmity gauged, united by fear
Forced to endure what I could not forgive
I seem to look away, the wounds in the mirror waved
It wasn't my surface most defiled
Head at your feet, fool to your crown
Fist on my plate, swallowed it down
Enmity gauged, united by fear
Tried to endure what I could not forgive
Day 260 of 365
The past hums softly behind me—
in the worn leather of the wheel,
in the trembling glow of dashboard lights
that once lit a different face,
a different silence.
Night stretches out like a road without promises,
but I drive anyway.
The rearview mirror flickers with memories,
tiny fireflies of what was—
beautiful, brief,
untouchable.
I don’t know where I’m going,
but I know I can’t go back.
Not now. Not ever.
Somewhere between what I miss
and what I dream,
I press the pedal gently—
and let the future find me.

Jace's first pair of shoes, so teeny tiny, always hang in my rearview mirror. It's a gentle reminder that there is precious cargo on board, and of course, I love to flaunt my mommyhood :)
Happy start of a new week, everyone! :)

You've seen the gorgeous feathers of a peacock from the front. Beautiful, majestic jewel tones. However, from the rear it's a totally different story!
The only color visible is when a feather gets blown by the wind or movement, and the color shows from the front for a moment.
Yet, color me weird, I find this side has a subtle beauty.

"You can't appreciate the miracle of the sunrise unless you've waited in the darkness."
I want to dedicate this sunrise to my Flickr buddy cage_ee. Thank for the wise words and I hope you enjoy the view.
I took this shot last week when I was headed to Kingsbury for the Air Fair and should have pulled off of the freeway much earlier, but it is what it is. I continued to watch my rearview mirror as this one unfolded, but couldn’t find an exit quick enough and a place to stop and enjoy the view. Taken somewhere between Houston and San Antonio.
