Evacuation on Highway 288 from Alvin toward Houston on Wednesday afternoon. (took us 3 hours to travel what usually takes us 25 minutes)
The light reflects off the rearview mirror.
It always reflects of the mirror, almost blinding and impossible to escape. No matter how fast or far he drives there was no way to get away from the light.
On the road was were he belonged. The trees and paint on the road a blur, flying by at 70 miles an hour. To slow down was to lose a challenge. An unsaid challenge that kept him always ahead of that light.
To follow that light, he knew that he would have to give up on the road. To give up on the road would be to give up himself. He didn't know why he had to outrun that light, why it meant so much to him. He only knew that he had to stay ahead.

Heading out to Midway Airport for my flight back to the Bay.
I was hoping to get the Chicago skyline in the mirror, but the short moment I had to get it was blocked by an SUV then a truck. :) oh well.
