The subject is the glass cover of a glass teapot.( 2 inches in diameter ).
The background colours is from a mug placed behind the upright standing teapot cover.
Natural light source through the windows at 9 o'clock, table lamp light at 2 o'clock and a small LED torch light at 7 o'clock.

Dunloup Creek
New River Gorge
Saturday was a great day for hiking, but not for photography. Until, that is, the late afternoon sun began to light Dunloup Creek in an unbelievable array of color!
I tried a few frames of the waterfall itself, but this waterfall looks so much better with less water flow, so I moved to the area just upstream from the waterfall and had an absolute blast trying to capture all that color.
Dunloup Creek is one of those streams that is simply magic in late afternoon / early evening light . . .

I really enjoyed the sunset in this evocative lonely place located in the middle of the vast plains of La Mancha, as it seemed to be, at times, a true fierce battle between light and shadows for the conquest of the ruins of a lost realm.

Better viewed large
The D500 combined with the 50mm F 1.4 nikkor lens worked really well for some spontaneous street night shots at a nearby shopping complex. The D500 handles low light quite admirably and the 50 mm F 1.4 allows for lower ISO settings, even with higher f-stops. With a well-lit backdrop, even at slower shutter speeds, I was able to capture some interesting ICM images having acceptable exposure levels, along with some nice contrasts between lights and shadows.

I took this on my birthday quite a ways ago. Never knew quite what to do with it. I don't quite love it. But I very much liked the process of experimentation.
