I realized I uploaded single frame versions by mistake, I actually meant to upload these panoramas, but since some people already commented on them, I won't delete the single frame "mistakes".
View of Lake Lucerne, or Vierwalstaettersee, from Chanzli viewpoint on Rigi mountain. Hundreds of tourists visit this mountain every day, but very few of them make the easy 15 minute walk from the cable car station (which resembles Shanghai at rush hour at mid day) to this viewpoint, I feel guilty revealing the secret! I was there alone most of the 2 hours I spent there in the evening except for local swiss hikers and it was completely deserted when I came back in the morning.
I didn't realize I had a photo from this bay with a sunstar and also on closer inspection - bad habit of not changing from my reading glasses to my computer glasses- I see there is a figure standing atop of the rock formation that really gives it scale. I would not delete the previous photo as the faves and comments mean a great deal to me...
I was ecstatic getting two sunsets from this wet and extremely windy holiday and obviously took the opportunity to grab them..
The other landscapes I got on this holiday were a chance for me to start using my old heavy manfrotto pro tripod that I had put away because of the weight of it. I bought a manfrotto befree but knew it would not be up to the winds you get on the cliffs and beaches of Northwest Cornwall.
It was a good holiday despite the mostly inclement weather..
I realize this may just be 'New Avatar Infatuation', but I'm really enjoying how Armorsmith photographs....

The Great Blue Heron has realized that the guy with a fishing pole a few yards away was having pretty good luck catching fish, and was watching him carefully. When the fisherman caught one, it hurried over and stood about six feet from the fisherman. Unfortunately the fisherman stashed its catch. The heron then stayed close to the fisherman, but it never got to steal a fish.
It is still chilly and cold
The first buds on the new petals startle when they sprout and want to crawl back if they could
The water in the fen is like a mirror and the fresh greenery on the trees and the white of the peat fluff make us realize that it is already spring
So come wind, blow the clouds away so that the sun can begin to shine and that everything is turned into a mesmerizing splendor of color........
I realize my images of Spain are a bit too dramatic, but the day I took this image was not so nice. It was the day we left and by the time we got on our plane, there was a storm outside, just perfect for the second time I was flying... taking off right into the storm, with lightnings and strong winds all over. I felt so relived to touch the ground again :D
wish a creative Sunday !!
a wild wine ice drops .....
a not too cold Sunday.......
You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged
Oh I realize
It's hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness, inside you
Can make you feel so small
But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful,
Like a rainbow

While I did not get a chance to get inside the park and do the scenic drive at Red Rock Canyon NCA, the viewpoint on Red Rock Canyon Road provided some expansive views of the Mountains that make the area special. I am not a geologist by any means, but even I could see the different types of rock formations as you scan the mountains. The moment I got here, I knew I wanted to take a panorama shot and didn’t even bother with my wide lenses and only took the 70-200 with meI ended up taking this image by stitching together around 7 or 8 pictures at 70mm. While I wanted to go even more tele, shooting at 70mm was the only way to include the clouds to the frame.
One interesting dilemma I faced at this location was keeping the frame level. Generally, I am a stickler for keeping the horizon level and going through pains to get the image leveled correctly. I also did that here, but when I stitched them together, they looked off so much that it bothered me. So I went back to google maps and looked at these rocks and realized that my images were indeed level, but the rock formations and their horizontal streaks mess with the eyes when you see it in a panorama image. So reluctantly, I had to rotate the image around 4-5 degrees to make it look more natural. I have to say this was the first time I have done something like this, and it felt weird.
I realized that I hadn't shown Holly's EuroTrash dress in full...it is filled with lovely details! AND the light isn't cooperating with me here to show it fully...maybe that will happen at another time!

I have realized that I often seek this kind of backlight in my photos, or a special light with contrasts, dark "spooky" sky and sunshine etc etc... June, the month of the long days and short nights, full of promises, luxuriant, new lives in the nursery of nature, and in the sunshine after a rain you notice even more how all plants and flowers grow very fast...
Nine months ago, you and I started a journey together that changed my very being. Sitting on the beach with you, I feel the warmth of the sun as if it is the first time I ever left the house. I feel the breeze gentling blowing across us. As the goose bumps appear, I smile slyly knowing it is not the breeze but rather your proximity that caused them. To say you have changed my life would be an understatement. You see in me what I have always strived to be. I see in you everything that I have always wanted and, have discovered, everything that I have needed. It took a lot of living to get to the life I have always wanted to live. My dreams have been realized.
...I realize
Just what you mean
To me
And now
Now that you're near
Promise your love
That I've waited to share
And dreams
Of our moments together
Colour my world with hope of loving you

Lenny realized fishing can be fun. One of the top 10 reasons to go fishing is "social bonding" with friends. ^_~
I realize my recent burst of Canadian stuff is neglecting CN a bit. They're actually kind of a big deal up there. I haven't expended a whole lot of time going after them, but they're pretty dominant and sometimes you just end up with the right target. On July 11, 2018, Ian and I woke up in Kindersley, Sask., with a hint that a train would be headed east toward Saskatoon the next day. This line is just a glorified branch now, so it takes a hint of luck to find a target. Instead, our quarry ended up going west. It's a local for the end of the line at Oyen, Alta., behind a pair of SD40-2Ws. The canola is in full bloom and oil wells are in full production. The train is on the approach to Marengo, Sask., and a dozen or so miles will cross the boundary into Alberta.
I started off this morning with an idea for a specific theme for an image in me bean, but I needed to find the right picture.
At first, I thought this was it, but after a few minutes of playing I realized it wasn't.
So, just for shits and giggles, I threw a couple more effects at it and came up with this. Not really sure what to call it; a little bit monochrome, a little bit selective coloring, and a whole bunch of playtime abstract.
Japanese Friendship Garden in San José, California.
Back after some much needed rest from the holiday! I do realize that the holidays aren't always a joyous time for everyone, so for those that have difficulty during that time, I do hope you were able to find at least one bright spot and something to be grateful for!

The moment I saw you I knew my life would never be the same again. At the time, I didn't know what that actually meant.
It was only over time that I realized what a gift, what an enrichment you are for my life. That there is a person who means more to me than anything else. It still overwhelms me when I think back to your first hour in the world, which I was allowed to spend with you. Okay, most of the time you were yelling at me, but since then, at least that's how it feels to me, something special connects us.
And now look at you, 18 years later. This little baby whose feet were smaller than my thumb has grown into a beautiful young woman.
A young woman with personality, with rough edges, with a lot of empathy and humor. It fills me with great pride to see you like this today.
I am very happy to have you in my life and that I was able to accompany you on your way to here and that I can continue to do so.
For your further journey, which is called life, I wish you much success and happiness and all the best. At the same time, I wish you the strength and self-confidence to overcome setbacks and defeats. I am excited to see where your journey will take you and i will always be there for you if you need me.

i realize i live in a ridiculous place ...
... especially when the wildflowers are still blooming in the second week of July, and the fog is coming over the hill but the water is still blue because the sun is still out.
I realize that for Marilyn, this is a balmy spring day on the ranch. But I like to enjoy what little cool weather we do get here in the South. This is MY kind of weather, 16 degrees!
A curious photo. When I did it, didn't realize it showed only the part inside the lake creating a beautiful reflection... in Gramercy Park, Alphaville, Brazil
Quando fiz a foto não havia percebido que todo o edificio estava "submergido" no lago... Gostei do efeito.
I just realized that we haven't been in the forest together for a while.
And since it's been really warm in the last few days and a little cooling down is needed again, I'll try to solve both problems at once.
Is it already working? If not, I have a few little details for you about the photo.
The temperatures on this beautiful winter morning in the Königsbrücker Heide were around minus 15 degrees Celsius. The air was as clear as glass and the snow crunched under my boots with every step. The ground was covered with small ice crystals that sparkled like small diamonds wherever the sun reached them. And every single branch had been encased in a crust of ice and snow and transformed into a work of art. And when the morning sun made these sculptures shine, it was a fairytale sight.
Otherwise there was an extraordinary silence in the forest as the snow absorbed the sounds that tried to get through to me from "civilization".
Well, I don't know about you, but I'm feeling a little more refreshed now.

I've come to realize lately from your comments that there is a longing to see more ocean, and I've also realized that I don't photograph the ocean nearly enough! I myself, returning from my recent two-day trip, wanted to see the ocean first, even before going home. I actually feel that longing every day.
My title is taken from a Tears for Fears song called Rivers of Mercy:
If by magic, you mean the ocean
If by tragic, you mean the end
I only came across this song a couple of months ago but was immediately struck to the core by those mysterious opening words. Even without any further context - or maybe especially without any other context, I feel these two lines are quite possibly the most beautiful lyrics ever written! They seem to encapsulate a dimension of truth so deep and profound that it makes me tremble inside. I see reflected my own reactions to the sea as well as questions about the whole of humanity.
After deciding that I wanted to post an ocean photo with this title, I went out with my best lens and quickly discovered what a challenge it is to deliberately photograph "the ocean." The play of light, colors, waves is always changing. I literally said out loud to myself: "I could take a picture of the ocean every day and never get that ONE definitive photo!" And so an idea was born. It's time for a new Flickr project: 52 weeks of ocean photos!
It will be my gift to everyone with the hunger to see the ocean, and it will be my own never-ending pursuit trying to capture the magic.
I realize that I just uploaded an American Tree Sparrow shot, but I really liked the look of this shot that I got last weekend. I noticed a group of sparrows in a brush pile so I 'spished' them out into the open. The charming little guy mounted itself on the best perch and I took the shot. It won't be long before these sparrows make their way out of Iowa and back into Canada for the summer.
I photographed this simple home in Tucson with the giant Saguaro's in the front yard. A few weeks earlier I found out that Universal Films reached out to me about using some of my photography in a new motion picture that will be directed by Steven Spielberg. My photography will be in a Steven Spielberg film! Any film would be an achievement for me but how incredible is this. I know its just a few images but its such a blessing. I am very thankful to God and my wife for allowing me this side hobby/passion of love photography has given me. I also want to thank everyone out there for always saying kind words and giving encouragement. Take care and God Bless.
Chico's dreams of playing baseball for our local team were dashed when he realized that he would never be able to pick up the bat.
They had finally realized their feelings for one another, these two childhood friends, and confessed them to each other over the summer. Half quiet cunning, half bubbling enthusiasm: They now return to Hogwarts for their 6th Year as a couple.
(Posing done by me. Also featuring Marigold's new and amazing look.)
I didn't realize who you were when I took this photo. Then I thought the way you smoked that cigarette looked familiar. Flick of the hand. Chimney of wispy tendrils. Somehow you sensed me too, and you turned your head and looked at me.
I realize that I didn't use IR film to its true potential. But then that sort of thing isn't really for me. So I slapped a red filter on it and shot away.

I have realized that my camera skills are in a steep decline from using it in low light situations this holiday. Little wonder given the year we've had - plague, accepting a promotion while holding down my old tasks for half a year, and a lack of creative spirit that these factors contributed too. I am hoping I can knock the rust off the mojo and get back to recording the things that make me happy in 2021. I will start with these two before my wife takes down the tree. Flea is 8 or 9 now and sweet as can be, a real one man dog who can usually be found stuck to me like glue. Ginger is two now and a super goofy but loveable girl about town.
When I realize that I've been single all year and still had relationship problems :)
OMG How stupid is that haha*
He fits so well, I thought this saying was brilliant :)
Somehow I realized that my skin could be a sensitized surface. Since [my sister] Louise was the photographic subject of the house, I put a negative of a picture of her on my upper arm, and taped it there with surgical tape. I was eight or nine, and we were still living in Cedarhurst, so I went out into the sun, in the backyard, with the negative taped to my shoulder. I actually kept it there for two or three days. Then I peeled it off, and there was Louise, burned into my skin. That was my first portrait :-)

Long before I even realized that the Splinter Hill Pitcher Plant Bog could be a great place for caterpillars, I would make an annual pilgrimage to enjoy the beauty of the various orchids in the bog that bloom in late April into May! Yesterday was a gorgeous day to go!
It is somewhat of a spiritual experience for me to stand in the presence of these exquisite wildflowers, which only grow in bog areas, and only last for a very short time each year! These Grass Pink Orchids are my favorite..
Just realized I hadn't posted this photograph taken last October. My buddy, Mike Koenig, and I hit perfect conditions on this day. We hiked down into the gorge late afternoon and had the whole place to ourselves. Our shutter fingers were happily clicking away trying to take in every conceivable composition.
We reluctantly had to stop when we realized it was past sunset and by the time we began to hike up we were in total darkness. Luckily, Mike had a headlamp but it was still pretty creepy getting out. But what a great day.
Thanks for viewing my photos. Comments are always welcome.

As I grow as a photographer I have realized that I needed to spend more time photographing in my "backyard" instead of dreaming and lusting for opportunities far away. I am lucky enough to live on the edge of the Shenandoah Valley and the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains as I am a stones throw next to West Virginia.
In years past in Autumn/Fall I would be venturing ALL over the place and putting hundreds of miles on my car on the weekends as West Virginia is home to places like Blackwater Falls State Park, Dolley Sods, Spruce Knob, and Babcock State Park to name a few. This places are beautiful, but I feel I need a break from them for a little bit because they are SO well photographed. So this year I made a decision to stay within a county of where I live and force myself down some back roads that I have not traveled in a long while and some never at all. I have found some wonderful treasures because fo this decision..and this is one of them.
I went monochromatic because #1 I love monochrome, #2 I was shooting in mid day, #3 the clouds were amazing, and #4...again, I love monochrome! HA!

Although I realized the potential for a good composition here more than a year ago already, it was only when I drove past this spot just before sunset a couple of days ago… that the conditions were perfect for what I wanted to try to achieve.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
