I'm not ashamed to admit I love romance comics from the 60s and 70s. The cover of this one intrigued me, to say the least.

Sorry to report that in the story inside, which reprints this cover, she is the teacher, not the dude in the tweed jacket. She teaches an adult education class at night (basic arithmetic, according to the blackboard: 127 X 8 = ?) and the guy is one of her new students. He stalks her and beats up another guy on her behalf; by the end of the second class, he proposes marriage in front of everyone and she accepts, just like in real life.

Here I was, not expecting to do much for my RL birthday, when my faux bro invited me dancing and a friend asked to take me somewhere that would be enjoyable.

Little did I know there was a surprise party (kinda the point, right) planned for me with the majority of my favourite people.

I didn't realize the effect I had on people for those who barely know me at this point, to do something so sweet for me. I quite literally burst into tears when I was TP'd in and saw everyone.

So, from the bottom of my very full heart, thank you my lovvies. It meant more than you could possibly imagine. ♥

These unpredictable circumstances are certainly not what you would have chosen. And though it is indescribably painful, intense and challenging you put on your old, worn out shoes and do your best to keep standing, walking and working through these circumstances you would not have chosen while looking for light along the way. Thank you for doing this intense and rewarding work.

I took this picture back on April 18 one morning when it had been snowing the night before. And I remember thinking that—being a summer-loving gal—I really did not want more snow after a winter that seemed to drag on for a long time. It reminded me how this seemed somewhat similar to my own life experience and I felt I could relate to this out of season weather. So, in the morning I walked outside to capture what I saw and felt I could relate to as I stood there in the middle of this soaking it all up and appreciating the sunshine.

Such a strange feeling to be IMing DC as he stands in Jack the Pelican Presents in rl. Just before he went off for pizza with Jay. Lucky bastard!
